Apparently the bowel cancer was cured but then spots appeared on his liver and they're non-operable. Average life expectancy is 2-3 years, though there are some cases where the patient lasts longer. He vows to make it beyond the 2-3 year limit and fight the cancer in hopes that there might be a possible cure.

See? This is why I don't say rude things to people with diseases. I was on tumblr when I learned of Total Biscuit. They were saying that he wasn't a fighter, he deserved death, etc because of events from Anti Gamergate. It got to the point I lectured them on Colon Cancer. (They claimed it was the easiest cancer to find and/or cure. That's wrong. Melanoma is easiest to find and cure. Colon cancer is the second leading cause of death, first being Lung Cancer. )

They keep down playing what he actually went through. I got offended when they said how easy colon cancer was in comparison to breast cancer. As someone who has a higher risk factor with colon cancer, its actually rather difficult to tell until its too late. Lots of people with colon cancer have other problems that mask it. Some of them, I felt, kept comparing the two or didn't understand that two different cancers had two different mortality rates. to prove a point.
