there's no staff drama because the staff vanished. there's only one person left working all alone on the site.

I don't think they vanished? It seems like the one staff has always been that one person. IIRC people complained about this as an issue as it causes moderation backlog and there were recent announcements about it when they started actually doing some site updates. The reason for no staff drama is because the one person running didn't want other people specifically because of that reason. I feel for them. Having more people would benefit the community, especially the moderation queues, but it also opens you up to drama and biases in the enforcement of rules. The process of vetting people is already hard enough, trying to weed through the sort of people who'd be interested in working on/for toyhouse would be a nightmare.

Toyhou.se looks like a very clean, functional site and AFAIK there is no staff drama (which is odd) but this entire community really taints the whole thing. I guess serious creators who don’t get involved in the donut steel shit just keep everything on their personal computers.

This thread just highlights the garbage. A lot of the drama is contained to connected communities, like closed species. The forums on there aren't even that active. It's more like the people who are gonna be cows just can't resist being cows so you can find them and the weirdos that have paraphilias and fetishes are so deep that they're gonna let their freak flag fly no matter what website they're on. There's always going to be bad apples, no matter what.

The website is designed to work as a character vault and it works fine for that, the bulk of the users are normal- er, well as normal as artists can be, and keep to themselves. A lot of the serious creators can just authorize close friends and only have a icon for the oc. As you're able to decide how to display art on there and one of the options is to have it completely hidden or only visible to authorized users. There's lots of control in who can view your content.

i know that there some than a person with the crown icon on th, not just lulu. the crown icon means they're the admins. lulu should get some extra staff, tbh, because there's people on the forums that reported things and after a year or more, they got no reply.

Must have some garbage ass owners of that CS if they actually thought someone like KilljoyLights would be a good candidate for a mod. Even if she "apologized", wouldn't that risk some sort of drama in the future due to her history? You can't really guarantee they truly changed; I'm sure she's still lurking around in that TH drama blog (where the anons think they're much better than the evil kiwifarms but that's another story.)

Decided to look at the species that thought ArtinglyUnwillingly would be a good mod and then keep them as a mod. They got about 602 members currently and as you would expect are nothing more than furries.

I expect that the owner and group might get a lot of flak if they keep Artingly as a mod. But given that the group seems to be young kids and on the smaller side. It also looks like this species was considered dead back in December of 2020 so most likely it'll just see further decline from here.

Also, it's always bothered me that the vent thread is still a thing. I know people need a place to vent, but why would you willingly air out your dirty laundry for everyone to see? The amount of over sharing seen on the vent board is highly concerning...

Truth be told, vent threads/channels/etc seem to be a surprisingly common thing all across the internet these days and I don't understand it at all. It's one thing on forums, I guess, where all sorts of spergery happens and users tend to be angsty teenagers to begin with, but you'll find them in a surprising number of social discord servers and stuff too; a friend of mine was doing online school this past year and apparently even the school's official slack (server?) had something that was a vent channel in everything but name.

I personally love 'em specifically because it's always, always, always a prime place to find potential cow behavior, just as surely as 'vent tumblrs' used to be. Well-adjusted people don't just shout their very personal matters into the void, they keep that shit to family or close friends or a therapist (or hell, a diary)... so inevitably, the kind of people using it are the attention-seeking histrionic types who are gonna put all their embarrassing personal stuff out in the open. They're also often the twenty-something no-job bullied-in-hs-so-now-want-to-be-the-prom-queen fat girls, of which there are a plethora on TH; you can tell very easily which 'vents' are by your typical melodramatic teenagers, and which are by the tremendous losers whose entire lives revolve around popularity based on how much their pixel catgirls are worth.

I think they've become common online because of how close any online space these days is to SJWs and the SJW mentality. It's a mindset that encourages a lot of self-centered thoughts and behaviours, because all the adherents are taught that they're tormented victims who are being horrendously oppressed by even the mildest social expectations, and that their own feelings are the most important priority that anybody could possibly have. So you end up with these moody, bitchy, miserable people whose idea of "friendship" is "you listen to me whine and complain about every little thing that's even mildly inconveniencing me with as much melodrama as I can cram into my every sentence, and maaaaaybe if I'm feeling really generous, I might listen to a couple of your worries too. But don't you dare expect more than a few minutes of shoulder-crying time, let alone anything even close to what I expect from you, because don't you know that that's EMOTIONAL LABOR and MY FEELINGS MATTER TOO?!" (For a perfect poster-child example of this, see the thread on Judy Valentin/Merqueenjude.)

So, if you get enough of these people together in a group or friend circle, (which is really the only friend circle they can hope to have, since no one else will tolerate them and they won't tolerate anyone else,) the group conversation's slowly going to fill with an endless stream of whine and nobody will be able to have a nice, pleasant conversation about anything, because "omg don't you realize how INSENSITIVE and DISRESPECTFUL it is to openly enjoy something when I'm in PAIN?!" And of course nobody, not even the most diehard SJ adherent, is going to be able to tolerate this miserable bullshit for very long, whether it's because they're openly able to recognize how obnoxious and spoiled this behaviour is, or because they're just convinced that they're the ones most deserving of a pity party and hate being expected to reciprocate.

Dedicated vent areas appear to be the workaround of choice, providing a relatively effective containment board for all the angst so that it stops shitting up the main conversational channels, and people can actually enjoy socializing again without constantly being derailed by some selfish miserable cunt who either cannot or will not read the room. It would explain them being present in normie spaces too, since even one of these people can shit up an entire forum or server without adequate containment. So, yeah, that's my long-winded armchair psychologist's take.

I worry about the type of things she did with minors because she faked her age for so long. I know a lot of minors who talked to her now have her on their blacklist which is interesting to say the least.
Also, 99% sure they're faking being a transbian because they have a fetish for trans lesbians. Not that it's more important than the minor stuff, though.

That is, unless she’s really many years older and not just like 18 or 19. People are insecure over things we may sometimes not care to think about. Again, assuming she has developmental issues to begin with.

As far as I’m aware, using it to get into minor-filled spaces and get closer to minors. For the longest time, people were under the general consensus she was 14-16 (including myself) because she never corrected anyone when they said that was the case, of course, until she revealed she was over 18 in that bulletin.
