Why aren't, as a society, encouraging the death of these people? They contribute nothing to society! They are parasites! I'm actually frustrated by this so much. Because 'girls proper social skills' are so much based on following peers and having girly groups, dressing feminine, putting on pretty makeup, acting soft and dainty...

No? At least with me this was the experience at all. Sure most girls did make up, dressed feminine manner and had mainly female friends but that was kinda it. Being a tomboy was absolutely fine and had no negative impact on you social standing. No one made fun of you not being up date about fashion as long as you could get clean t shirt and jeans level. Actually outside of parties going all out with make up and dressing to impress was much more likely to get raised eyebrows because it looked so fake and impractical. Soft and dainty were not seen that positive traits because you were expected look after yourself and get your school and hobbies done.

Following peers happened with both sexes and if you couldn't do that could have negative impact because you couldn't take part in common conversations and could get annoying if you didn't read the room. Some more charismatic or hot individuals could get away with it but most were expected follow the common interest or be left out.

It's from almost a couple years ago now. The original Turing tweet was actually a troll. I was in an LGB group that was sperging out about it even when multiple people showed evidence it was trolling - but it was gay ops, can't remember if it was 4chan - the original spreader ended up being a joke though. Whoever did it, did successfully get it to spread a little bit, but it had more to do with less informed people blindly reposting whatever trans "history" they could find than any true revisionist malice or nuttery. The worst I saw was a kid on twitter reflexively arguing with another pro-trans person who pointed out the reality of the situation - that weird teenage dunning-kruger zoomer "you don't know what you're talking about, bigot!" rage.

I think I worded wrong about soft and dainty. Because that's certainly not "good". But rather following peers and whatever is popular in social group mostly. And there's much stronger peer pressure among girls than boys. I think it depends on the places to.

The thing is. It is not only autistic people who failed to do that. A lot of severely abused children are. But people don't talk about them. These days anything socially awkward = autism. A lot of kids who refused to follow peer pressure for their personal reasons. Kids who come from other cultures or socio-economic class may fail to read the room and be socially awkward too. It eems like a dying common sense to recognise that kids are stupid sometimes because of many reasons that isn't the 'tism.

It basically just means that, because autists have a (strong) tendency to behave in a socially abnormal manner, because they fail to take after those around them therefore they are held to be resistant to "social conditioning."

The second part of the passage is actually from a classic family "why possibly" explanations that pop up in basically every autism-troon paper, if only because it's in every other paper. It also helps that it isn't inherently 'hostile' to an innatist view of gender identity and helps explain away (or at least minimize) what is otherwise a troubling anomaly. For certain academics, this is evidently an important consideration.

Generally there are two variations on it: (a) Autists are more willing to 'explore' gender variation, because they have less awareness of associated norms or (b) because they aren't motivated to obey or care about those norms for either neuro-psychological reasons or because social exclusion/failure decreases motivation.

There's no clear distinction between (a) and (b) type explanations, but depending on the motivations of the authors, they'll be differentially emphasized and intertwined.
I actually have a very similar passage from another book on hand:

These are often incredibly unusual due to autists often having peculiar interests. Additionally, mind-reading (i.e. ToM) deficits which are central in producing autistic social cognition causes substantial impairment in social prospection leading autists to attempt to perform a given identity even when it would be perceived as odd or lead to mockery. They also may not even realize that their behavior is considered odd or that they are being mocked for it. Whether they're self-aware or not, the problem both compounds and is compounded by, social isolation and not sharing interests with others, further driving an autist into fixating more strongly on their fantasy-identity without regard towards reactions their behavior generates or towards forming relationships. It's a kind of 'virtuous' cycle; social failure engenders more social failure.

Instead of fantasizing about being a suave intellectual who cuts through the FICTIONS of the Bible like a red-hot katana through butter, you think of yourself as a cute teenage girl, cool edgy dyke, non-binary trans femme sex worker (the more esoteric, the more autistic symptomatology) or whatever.
Extending the metaphor a little, you can view the rejoinder that they are engaging in "autistic resistance to social conditioning" in contrast to the sheeples who display a "higher susceptibility to social conditioning" as being more or less this:

Of course, they are not really any less susceptible to "social conditioning"; just less to likely to react to different forms of "conditioning" (i.e. experiences or knowledge) in the typical way. You can be "conditioned" by having friends or by spending 16 hours a day on reddit/tumblr/twitter/YouTube and anecdotally, autists are much more suspectible to this latter form of "conditioning." It's the same either way, just one of them is more antithetical to living a good life.
