This might actually be the worst graph ever. What the hell are the units on "obsession with trans?" What are the confidence intervals of these trends, and what is the sample size surveyed? Do these perfectly straight lines actually reflect the lines of best fit, through some kind of insane luck? Where is the data that inspired this graphical trip to fantasyland? Is there even any data at all? If Mr. Fae thinks that GC people are more obsessed with trans people than they themselves are, he could have said so plainly. Instead, he pulled out le fancy science graph that he made on fucking PowerPoint, and expects everyone else to bow down before the pretty lines.

It's not so much that anyone can really tell real trans from fake trans but that trans narrative used to be sold with "transpeople just want to live as their gender of choice do dysphoria, they are otherwise normal people". This woman seems to believe that and someone with this world view about trans, someone acting absolutely unhinged or pervy will register as not real trans. To them this isn't trans, that's someone taking advantage of the situation.
That or she is trying to not get dismissed as just a transphobe.
