Typically, every 5k miles or once at the start of a new season (especially winter).

A healthy trans is a happy trans.

I think it's wrong that they're prescribing synthetic oil to trannies with under 10k miles on them. Nobody knows what the effects are yet.

Oil changes have no effect on trannies, you have to get your tranny serviced by a tranny specialist.
The tranny must be drained and filters cleaned/replaced every 15 months or 15,500 miles.
A properly maintained tranny can last in excess of 124,000 miles approximately 41% of the time.
