Well they did Shattered Glass Megatron, but instead of the upcoming Galvatron mold it's the OG Siege Megatron.



He's got a bunch of plane parts to make his tank mode fly, however it's not shown on the box or any of the official images, but he can still transform into the original tank mode.

Honestly I kinda like it, it's a bullshit cybertron vehicle like the Pretenders and other late era G1 figures had. Also I'm not expecting this to be the only literation of the figure, we probably will get Galvatron redone as Shattered glass Megatron because Commander Class Hotrod is apparently getting a black repaint as is jetfire. So having a bigger version of the main hero is almost expected in this case.

It also seems like those detachable wings and cockpit may see a re-use, because SS86 Scourge could have them attached and we could finally get a proper Jhiaxus.

That cockpit shield looks very close to his chestplate

How big is Scourge though? Jhiaxus stood head to head with Optimus and Rodimus.

Plus the SS figure looks like something out of the delightful G2 comic, bit lanky but that can tweaked.

Headsculpt is also spot-on, lined and grumpy.

Haven't read any but IIRC the Cohen guy from like uh Hiveswap and not much else I can think of somehow landed a job on the writing team unless that's changed since I heard about it so make of hat what you will.

On another note I recently found a SINGLE actual Transformer in a store, a rare sighting in these corona scalper hell times, at least in my area. On top of that, it was 26 dollars instead of 30! That's like 6 dollars away from what voyagers used to cost before the price hike to 25,and then 30, and then 32... My point is It's cheaper and I'm thankful.


Sculpt-wise this new Hot rod figure's pretty much perfection at the scale it's been made at, outclassing the 70 dollar masterpiece from a few years back and the ugly as sin 100 something dollar third party one with the bloated wrists and hollow insides internet reviewers claim is better than the masterpiece because apparently that company has like a reputation as "the best". There's some gripes I have with him like the fact his collar on his chest plate is missing some red details, and the parts on the back of his legs that clearly are supposed to be leg parts that only appear when those parts are in leg mode are not painted at all, thus making his entire back half of his legs that signature pinkish red he is. I'd customize it but I don't want to risk ruining a figure I have no clue if I'm ever going to find again at a decent price.

Welp the new Studio series figures are revealed. We're also getting another take on Menasor apparently. Gnaw and Wreckgar are both going to be troop builders so you better preorder them before they're all gone. They showed POTP Wreckgar riding SS86 Wreckgar and they were considerate enough to leave spaces for his weapons, so that's an interesting bonus feature.

Shattered Glass is probably going to be it's own subline eventually, they just revealed Starscream ensuring that the number of Seeker Mold repaints gets to 20. I'm probably just going to wind up giving the seeker repaints their own shelf. G2 Starscream is MIA but he's still coming.

Unicron trilogy looks like it's not going to happen but if you like literal who Japanese transformer guys you will be pleased.

Wreck gar has nipple articulation for no reason whatsoever and it's fucking amazing. As a result this new figure is 100% more worth it than the screen accurate third party wreck gar from a few years ago that started out at 60 dollars but kept getting marked up till it's now the same 200 dollar ish price as every other third party offering or official masterpiece figure. That fucker may have articulated fingers but he lacks the robo nipple power I never knew I needed in my life until now. Thank you studio series 86, I have seen the light.

This “Battle Across Time” boxart is great, reminds me of old MOTU artwork with nondescript volcanic terrain, seemingly random guys who don’t really fit just beating the shit out of each other and building up this weird story of 80s boxy robots meeting 90s mutants and teaming up.

Even by Diaclone standards these were repulsive toys, though I say this as someone who likes the idea of the “sled” that the MPs and Earthrise figures have.

Funny, considering the Diaclone figures were supposed to be lifeless machines piloted by humans, it's amazing this didn't crop up more often. We just kept getting things like a mysterious little fold out saddle on Grimlock's back. Although the only one that gives the game away they had the brilliant idea not to release it just once but to recolour and release it twice.

Wave 3 is starting to come out and I have not even seen waves 1 or 2 in stores.

Are the newest netflix deluxes also rare or are they supposed to hit stores next month? Because I want that blue Deep cover so I can have all the sideswipes.

Pretty certain I've got the Ironhide one somewhere in the attic amongst the others.

All this thread's stuff is half tempting me to resume car boot hunts this summer in the hope of finding odds and sods from the newer eras. More for an excuse to be up and out of the house at 7am on Sundays than anything else.
