Lemme tell you about when KHFM was only in Japan and never received a proper English localization. Kingdom Hearts final mix is basically KH1 with a lot of new content. Mind you, around even around 2013, resources were really scarce and we had no real developer tools so we had some guy make it.

It was an absolute nightmare. We have to individually input all English text and it was all completely random in some files. I think it finally was patched but 1.5HD came out and made all the work we did obsolete. But it was a cool project, but fuck Cheshire cat in Japanese. That nigga's riddles are so hard to understand.

We pulled official translation files and transferred that but other stuff like new cutscenes, never had been translated.
