My favorite trigger I've seen is "irl people" on photos and videos (usually followed by things like teeth, hands, collarbones, etc). I'm not sure how that even works, I mean, one can only stay home and pretend to be an animal or a fictional character for so long before seeing an actual person.

I loved the epic meltdowns when Tumblr first made bluespace possible. People pretending to be disassociating and having their entire existence invalidated because of a few vaguely clever graphics that pretended to blend into the dashboard.

TW: Slur, TW: Racist, TW: Genocide, and TW: Cultural Appropriation on a photo of an old My Little Pony from the 1980's because her name happens to be "Gypsy".

I've seen the warnings for certain colors too, warnings for meat or TW: Animal Cruelty put on pictures of food, and random posts that used the word 'stupid' tagged as TW: Ableism.

I never understood doing this or tagging swearing. Aside from being stupid in itself, wouldn't anyone who would actually block those things just block the specific words themselves? The blocker works inside the posts and not just the tags if I remember right.

Bisexuals are often ignored in the media seeing as they ‘pass’ as one or the other, therefore, the show indirectly contributes to bi-erasure through its lack of inclusion and visibility of bisexuality.

In season 5 SAMCRO blackmails a local insurance agent by drugging him, and hiring a transwoman to stage some compromising photos. This implies that the most scandalous and humiliating thing a person can do is to be with a transgender person as if that is something to be ashamed of or disgusted by.

Also, the show did not even cast an actual transgendered woman, but instead it was a cis man pretending to be transgendered.

Rush Hour 2 - Stereotyping
Most prominent in the film is the American character’s use of stereotypical racial jokes, for instance broken English or clichéd Asian accents. A lot of the dialogs in the film indicates that the characters take part in their own racial ridicule.

Carter: “I’ll slap you so hard that you’ll end up in the Ming Dynasty.”

In one scene, the duo enters a casino where Carter argues with a White dealer over the fact that he is given $500 chips instead of $1,000 chips based on the fact that he is Black. ‘‘You gave me $500 chips because I’m black? You think my people suffered 362 years of slavery so you could send us to cotton fields with $500 chips? Do I look like Chicken George to you?”

That all Asians look alike is also a stereotypical feature used in this movie. In one scene the duo ends up in a fight with a Chinese gang called the “Triads”. In the fight Carter accidentally punches Lee instead of a gang member and explains, ‘‘You all look alike.’’ However in another scene Carter gets to hear a similar statement. While running up the staircase an old woman screams: “Move aside Kobe!,” assuming that all black people look alike.

In another scene where they end up in a yacht party, Carter explains to Lee that ‘‘No one understands the words coming out of your mouth’’ due to his accent.
On the boat the duo finds a woman named Isabella, attractive. Carter says, ‘‘She chose me because I’m tall, dark and handsome, and you’re third-world-ugly.’’ To which Lee responds, ‘‘I’m not third-world-ugly. Women like me, they think I’m cute. Like Snoopy.’’ Carter then says, ‘‘Snoopy is six inches taller than you.’’


More than once throughout the film the two characters start arguing. One time Carter exclaims (to Lee): ‘‘I will slap the hell out of you right now!’’ Lee responses, ‘‘I’ll bitchslap you back to Africa!’’

Further Lee portrays the Asian Man who’s an expert in Martial Arts, but who’s also asexual and a bad English speaker. Carter’s character is loud, impulsive, hypersexual and immature black man. In the movie he is portrayed as ignorant and causing trouble. In addition he embodies the African American stereotype in the way he’s speaking; “she’s the bomb,” “mack out,” and “look fly.”

Parks and Recreation - Ableism
In an episode Leslie is supposed to host a telethon against diabetes (S02E22). They are aware that there are two types of diabetes, but they never make any sort of distinction between the two types nor do they ever say which one they are referring to when they are talking about diabetes. They talk about diabetes as if only overweight people get it, however, that is only applicable to type 2 diabetes and not even then is that always the reason for being diagnosed with type 2. They also add to the myth that one gets it from eating sugar, which is not true.

They continuously throughout the show mistake diabetes for obesity and talks about it as if they are the same thing.

Portraying diabetes as something you get because you’re fat and lazy is not only grossly incorrect in most cases, but it also puts the blame on all other diabetics for something that they could never possibly have prevented.

There are already too many misconceptions concerning diabetes in our society as it is, using the disease as a cheap and ignorant punchline only makes it worse.

The Interview - Representation of North Korea
In the film DPRK as a country is referred to as Mordor, a location from The Lord of the Rings trilogy that belongs to the story’s antagonist where Mordor is described as being completely surrounded by enormous mountain ranges. The purpose of the mountains are to protect the land from unexpected trespassers and at the same time to prevent the habitants from escaping Mordor. This description along with the fact that Mordor is under constant surveillance from “The eye of Sauron” bears resemblance to the ever watchful eye of the Kim regime who keeps constant watch so that no-one unknowingly escapes or is let into the country. Here the film manages to illustrate a proper picture of North Korea, however it is only referred to as “Mordor” without further explanation.

Concerning DPRKs human rights violations, the issue is enlightened twice throughout the entire film. Most of the attention is focused on the issue in the interview between Skylark and Kim that is nationally and internationally broadcasted. Here the leader is asked whether he believes that his people, who have been through wars and floods, are worth a reward for their resilience and strength. Kim do believe that the people should be rewarded whereupon Skylark replies, “Then why don’t you feed them? Why don’t you feed your people? They are hungry. Specifically two thirds of them. Isn’t that a little embarrassing, since you’re the one they view as a provider and a god? And you spend $800 million on nukes every year? And you have 16 million people who are starving.” Here America takes responsibility for enlightening the DPRKs people on their leaders’ wrongdoings.

This interview scene later results in a revolt where both Kim and many of his officers are assassinated. With America’s help the DPRK transforms into a democracy with Park as interim president. After the revolt Park resembles a Western woman with her hair loose, no longer dressed in her suit or the mandatory pin of the leaders on her chest.

Analyzing this film it is evident that the Asian and American characters all play what is stereotypical for their race. American men as the saviors who, in this case, can transform the most totalitarian state into a democracy. Asian men are portrayed as asexual and easily overthrown, while Asian women are portrayed as dangerous bodies.
