First season is much better but at the same time I think people were pretty harsh on season 2.. everyone put in a decent effort. Ray and Frank . I liked Blue Ruin and hated Green Room so season 3's director has me right in the middle on what to expect from it.

I think people look down on season 2 because it wasn't as good as season 1, but really, both seasons are really good. Unfortunately, it seems the creator has a bad case of TDS and that's going to have a big effect on season 3.

Still never watched season 2 myself. If it had brought back Rust and Hart, or if the connecting theme of the anthologies actually had been Lovecraftian horror, I’d have been all over that shit.

Once they abandoned the Lovecraftian themes I was done. I've seen plenty of cop shows and when they took the thing that made it unique and tossed it out I was like 'whatever'. Then season 2 was really fucking terrible with awful dialogue, the story just being laughable and the cinematography being just all around ass. I just laughed at the ending, much like I laughed all the way through GoT season 6.

Pizza has a huge ego and the show basically only worked thanks to Fuks beautiful cinematography and direction.

Season 3 I will watch out of curiosity but I don't think this faggot can redeem himself. He's got too much of an ego.

The first season of True Detective is basically a TV Series for people who hate TV. It feels like a very long movie, even the cast is famous for film and not TV.

I loved Season One, and I still watched all of Season Two despite the overarching theme of "What if Chinatown sucked?"

I would be more excited about Season Three if Jeremy Saulnier stayed on for the whole season a la Fukunaga in order to keep Pizzolatto in check. (I'd also be more hyped about Saulnier's involvement if Hold the Dark was any good, but alas.)

IIRC, Milch co-wrote the fourth episode of the new season as thanks for Pizzolatto co-writing the Deadwood movie.

Some corrupt Highway Deal or some shit with corrupt cops. It's the most boring thing ever. The gay guy gets gunned down early. Vince Vaughn gets stabbed by Mexicans in the desert and Colin Farrel dies because he wanted to look at his ugly ginger son one more time.

The corrupt cops don't know where Colin Farrel is so they have everywhere he'd be staked out. They're watching his house and kid and everything. He knows this. He knows this 100%. So he goes to see his kid one last time. Literally, I believe. He doesn't even talk to him. He's then followed (because duh) and has a shitty shoot out in the woods which was terribly done. It's not even tragic because you're like 'you couldn't have just looked at a picture fag?'. Its so fucking forced for the tragedy angle my eyes rolled in the back of my head. Also because he killed a bunch of corrupt cops in the woods, all the other bad guys get found out. So...good on being fucktarded I guess? Have fun while the birds pack out your eyes.

Also the women escape and Amy Adams, in true movie fashion, got pregnant from the one night they had sex and you see both Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrels kids at the end.

It's like poetry, it rhymes. Also the gay didnt get a metaphor lol.

It also has the saddest orgy scene in the world with Amy Adam's high on Molly. Its fucking terrible, because you realize it's this way because Amy Adams has an image to uphold. Or they were terrified of asking her, so the entire scene comes off as toothless and pointless.

The action scenes are trash, the plot is monstrously boring along with the characters who do stupid shit all the time, the dialogue is fucking cringe and Vince Vaughn looked like he wanted to die every scene he was in, Amy Adams looks bored. Colin Farrel was the only one trying and he could not save it. The only good part is Amy Adams' ass for the 20 seconds it's on screen. The rest of it is actual ass.

I reccomend anyone who wants to watch Season 2 to just watch Chinatown instead. It's nearly the same, only with better everything. So my verdict for the OP: Since you've already seen the good part, save yourself 8 more hours, watch Chinatown and go to Season 1. Then never look at season 2 again.

I remember when it first came out. People fucking HATED it. It was like the Mass Effect 3 of TV. People hated it so much the sentiment was to never make another one. I remember people trying to defend it but over halfway through, nobody was. Its only years later you can say that because if you said it then, someone would have strangled you.

HBO waited awhile. So my guess is that this will be like Mass Effect Andromeda. Only with better facial animation. It reminds you of the second, what the series once was, and it's still utter trash.
