Wasn't joining the war extremely unpopular in America, to the point where the government had to actively avoid looking like they were supporting Britain? I barely have a surface level understanding of WW2 but even I know that America wanted little to do with stopping the Nazis until Pearl Harbor happened. At the very least, they probably wouldn't have joined in for a few more years if it hadn't happened anyway.

The whataboutism regarding the George Floyd riots and 1/6 shouldn't even exist in the first place. It's morally reprehensible to even declare that argument and compare the two. The more I hear about 1/6, the more desensitized I get of it even though I watched it live. Ignoring the absurd comparisons to the Civil War, 9/11, etc, I've also watched several cities burn nationwide in the name of social justice. Very little response from the media or government other than sheer justification of "peaceful protesting" and "racial injustice."

Objectively speaking, one event was worse than the other based on collateral damage, social impact and prolonged continuity. Both are abused for clout and fear mongering. In a just society, neither should have happened in the first place.

Mexicans hate Gauts, Guats hate Mexicans. Mexico has a militarized border that would exceed the Patriot Patrol's wettest dream, its understood the Mexican army shoots crossers and tosses the bodies just over the fence so they can claim they told them to halt and were ignored - often they don't even do that, because no one asks questions. Lots of human remains along the border, rotting in the jungle.

Anyway, Guats - because they can't just have their family hop the border to live illegally with them - are seen as less of a immigration risk and they are over represented in "Temporary Work Visa" programs where argicultural industries (read: food processors mostly) can bring in workers for 90 or 180 days to fill labor short fall; Trump securing the boarder made businesses that were subsisting on illegal spic labor have to go through proper channels to get their serfs and pay them minimum wage. Biden just opening the borders has taken money and jobs from them - but more horrifically, given both to Mexicans.

Guatemala was also getting money to taking assylum seekers; they were getting more a head than it cost the government, so it was a profitable endeavor for them, and they are very unhappy to see it go. (It also gave them a chance to suck up to America-senpai for clout & further gibs)
