Tumblr and Design -

As I've read through a variety of insane and awful blogs courtesy of you beautiful people, I've started to notice a trend in most of them; that trend being that most of these blogs, especially those made by the SJW, tend to look like absolute shit.

Whether it's FemaleGoodra's use of lime green text on a white background, to Chieftain-of-Dog's use of small, grey text on a white backdrop, I find it damn near impossible to read a lot of these things. There's also the matter that many of them are over saturated with colors, images, and textures. This further adds to the unreadability and ugliness of a lot of these blogs.

In light of this discovery, kindly post caps or links of some of the ugliest looking blogs you can find.

If they use pastel/pixel art on their blog it's a 9.5/10 percent chance they're scum.

It's because these users rarely ever look at their actual blogs. 90% of the time they're on their dashboard, where everything is easy to see and formatted in a way that doesn't make you want to gouge your eyes out. So they focus on making their blogs "aesthetically pleasing."

Tumblr has always reminded me of Myspace during it's glory days. Worse thing for me is the auto-play music which I always thought was web-design no-no #1.

Another design element I find... well distracting to say the least are those blogs that decide to throw in stuff like this:

The area I circled is where these sparkles fly out from the mouse being on the page. While this example isn't too bad as far as the design goes, this this type of thing, especially paired with stuff flying in the backdrop I've found to be pretty annoying and distracting at times.

I mean, I have falling rose petals on my blog, but they're pretty small and I don't think they're that distracting. Maybe I'm just used to them. But my layout is fairly basic otherwise.

Some of the people I follow have such weird layouts that it's impossible to tell where the fuck the next page button is. I had to ask one of my friends where it was so I could actually use it.

While it is true that a blog is somewhat different to a Powerpoint in design, I personally feel a lot of this is applicable to them, as well as a lot of other things.

Oh yeah, now I remember that. It really sucked when you had the volume turned up and you were on a computer in public. Don't ask me how I know this.

Those old flashing GIF banners congratulating you for being the "1,000,000th visitor to the site" that also entice you to "click here to claim your prize", or those ads that look like Windows XP error messages warning you that "your desktop is too boring" wouldn't be out of place on some of these tumblr sites.

I remember it more because of the Teen Titans show at the time than anything else, since some of their tracks were in it. Most famous one for me being when they chased the most British man on Earth around in a stage he made because... learning?
