So this is an idea that's existed for a while.
A long time ago we had a subforum called Blue Pill, for any person or community who was harbored by seriously delusional, but highly thought out, world views.
During my hiatus in 2014, Katsu merged this subforum into Lolcow and introduced a thread prefix system that organized thread by their type.
At the end of 2015 I replaced this system with thread prefixes that organize threads by scope.
Maintaining organization in our highest thread volume board is not easy. People have previously suggested, "why not move threads about multiple people into their own board", but I don't think that's sufficient or helpful.
Today I created a subforum for Enter. This hinges on the same premise as TGK. I don't personally know Enter or his community, but what I do know is that he has a large number of followers here. This gave me a bit of an epiphany, specifically:
Sub-forums exist for an audience and for organization.
We have a forum for Chris because there's a lot to talk about and a lot of people talking. Jace too. Enter too.
PixyTeri might have a lot of follows, but she doesn't do a lot. Same with Vade.
DSP does a lot, but there's not a significant number of people actively talking about him every day.
TGK and Moleman stopped having boards when both they lost activity and followers.
So, I think that Tumblr as a whole is a candidate for a subforum. I think that a lot of people here, especially after Vade, came over to watch people they already knew were insane go crazy in the spotlight.
/r/TumblrInAction exists, but it's mostly about specific crazy things. Not people. In fact, their rules say "no singling people out". We don't need to operate by that limitation.
So, if we made a Tumblr board, would you contribute?
