So this is an idea that's existed for a while.

A long time ago we had a subforum called Blue Pill, for any person or community who was harbored by seriously delusional, but highly thought out, world views.
During my hiatus in 2014, Katsu merged this subforum into Lolcow and introduced a thread prefix system that organized thread by their type.
At the end of 2015 I replaced this system with thread prefixes that organize threads by scope.

Maintaining organization in our highest thread volume board is not easy. People have previously suggested, "why not move threads about multiple people into their own board", but I don't think that's sufficient or helpful.

Today I created a subforum for Enter. This hinges on the same premise as TGK. I don't personally know Enter or his community, but what I do know is that he has a large number of followers here. This gave me a bit of an epiphany, specifically:

Sub-forums exist for an audience and for organization.

We have a forum for Chris because there's a lot to talk about and a lot of people talking. Jace too. Enter too.
PixyTeri might have a lot of follows, but she doesn't do a lot. Same with Vade.
DSP does a lot, but there's not a significant number of people actively talking about him every day.
TGK and Moleman stopped having boards when both they lost activity and followers.

So, I think that Tumblr as a whole is a candidate for a subforum. I think that a lot of people here, especially after Vade, came over to watch people they already knew were insane go crazy in the spotlight.

/r/TumblrInAction exists, but it's mostly about specific crazy things. Not people. In fact, their rules say "no singling people out". We don't need to operate by that limitation.

So, if we made a Tumblr board, would you contribute?

Maybe have a "Random Post Thread," for posts that are lulzy but don't need a whole thread,

While I like the idea, I'd say there's some ambiguity with using tumblr specifically as the deciding factor. It's primarily renown for it's SJW community but that's not exclusively what it is; there are plenty more weirdos and niches it harbours.

And most tumblrites have personas (and dox) outside of tumblr. So what exactly would the subforum be for?

Similarly, Poe's law comes into effect a lot more frequently due to how the site is designed. You can make as many sub-blogs as you want and be completely anonymous yet infamous. There's no central core, the closest thing to an actual sustained line of communication is it's tagging system which is awful.

Tl;dr Good idea, but needs better direction.

Considering how many Tumblrite threads have propped up since the tagging system started being used, I'd say it's probably time for them to get a subforum. (Also, it'd get people to quit bitching about how "ONOES THE TUMBLR IS KILLING KIWI :((((" because then they could just systematically ignore everything.)

I voted the second option because I'm in that school of thought that thinks that a tumblr subforum would just be mostly SJW special snowflakes, which are all more or less the same. If there's enough variety to tumblr cows I'm just not seeing, then I say go for it.

As mentioned, the subforum isn't for tumblr, it's for people from tumblr. That seems to be a really common theme. It has nothing to do with SocJus, FemaleGoodra isn't SocJus and he'd be a candidate.

The goal here is to give harbor to people who want to talent spotlight in their own community. I think some of the best additions to the forum recently have been these random brigades from tumblr that already did what they do on the forum, but are now able to in a much different way with a better support system and an audience.

I have a suspicion that literally everyone on Tumblr is a troll. lol
I wish. Once, I literally posted "When I see (insert book character here), I think of (insert 'not-POC-enough' actor here) to play him" and was attacked because my headcanon was 'problematic/harmful/hurtful to the poc community'. Like, they tried to run me off my tumblr. If they were trolls, they're only trolling themselves.

My ex is on tumblr. He is a sociopath who, since beginning tumblr and joining in on their pagan discussions, believes he is the Egyptian death god Anubis (nevermind Anubis is the god of embalming) and he has fucking magic powers and shit...I'm fairly sure most of tumblr is full of delusional sociopaths based on what I've seen. Tumblr is where lolcows are born.

Do you mean it's a forum for people from tumblr to post on, or it's to talk about cows on tumblr? I assume the latter.

A lot of the USDA grade A beef is from tumblr, but I'd as soon cut my nose off as have an account on tumblr.

The threads are about lolcows from who primarily operate on tumblr, but the board itself is probably going to be mostly tumblr users.
