This isn't at all a new phenomenon. The pornbots have been doing that for years. There was a brief break when a lot of tags including innocent/non-NSFW ones (the "Vento Aureo" tag for one) were completely nuked so no posts at all could be visible in it but Tumblr can't be competent to kill them off for good. The pornbots now start hijacking other tags

The only reason I might actually end up missing Tumblr is because of high quality gifs. Everything else can go die in a dumpster fire though.
Tumblr staff actually doing something somewhat decent for a change: They now put a notification at the top of your dash letting you know if you have any flagged posts, and there's a button on the sidebar you can click on to review them (and possibly appeal them if they've been falsely flagged, which is unfortunately still common). I've had a few flags that I've had appealed, and they actually managed to do so within about 10 hours, and they approved all but one (which I can just repost later with minor changes). I'm still able to view that specific post using the button, even after they've hidden it from public view.
I gotta say, though...I would LOVE to know just what criteria the bot is operating by that made it flag a post of old Weekly World News covers detailing the exploits of "Bat Boy".

I had a tumblr acct before the SJW/tumblrina infestation, long before yahoo, and used it exclusively for porn and erotic art. TBH, I rarely ever saw any of the sjw shit at all on my dash - until they started adding "recommended" and "sponsored" blogs in my feed (and a custom style sheet eliminated those). And I also never "accidentally" saw any porn bot content. The staff really are content to just let the site die. Axing porn removed one of the major reasons the site was used, and they're not effective in stopping the bots. In a few years another giant might be dead.
Kinda depends on what you mean by “work.” If by falling for one you mean followed the bot back or clicked on one of their links to sign up for the website, I’m sure someone out there has done so. But from what I understand, pornbots’ end goal is less about getting users to click on a link so much as tricking Google’s algorithm into believing their website isn’t spam by having their URL be latched onto as many legitimate websites and accounts as possible - in which case they work perfectly as Tumblr refuses to delete them for the sake of their own numbers.Tangential question: Do pornbots ever work? Has anyone here ever heard a story of someone falling for one?
Ironically lemon is a tag used for underaged boy on boy porn long before this ban.People are getting around the porn ban by using the citrus scale tags (lemon, lime, etc.) So this whole campaign to crack down on porn was all for nothing.
Correction lemon just refers to smut fanfiction and is mostly used by yaoi writers though sometimes is used to describe yuri or het. It means nothing in regards to the characters age. It's a based on a Japanese term which itself is a reference to Cream Lemon a het hentai series.Ironically lemon is a tag used for underaged boy on boy porn long before this ban.
