I think your perception of this might come from the abundance of young faux-leftist dumbasses who live to post on Twitter and Tumblr that we make fun of. This is in part due to a lot of right wing nutbags not being all that funny. Right wing crazies are hateful, stupid, and smug for sure but their content is usually just blunt, gross, and repetitive rather than hilarious.
It also has to do with young goofy "social justice" enthusiasts are generally glued to social media and provide more content, whereas right wing dicks (usually) tend to be older and less inclined to share their every waking moment on social media.
