I do not understand why someone would do this shit.

Because of the cascade of neurotransmitters it unleashes, which cause intense pleasure. Also, the manufacturing process for pretty much all refined drugs is awful and involves lots of organic solvents and things that explode and other ugly stuff. Even legal drugs like SSRIs. In fact, pharmaceutical companies are responsible for tons of Superfund sites.

They keep doing it because it eventually burns out your neurotransmitters to the point you develop anhedonia and are unable to experience any kind of pleasure at all without the drug, and eventually, need it just to feel normal. That anhedonic phase is pretty ugly with the stimulant hard drugs like cocaine and meth, and can last years.

Also, it seems people inclined to addiction experience drugs in a different way than those who can take it or leave it, or who actually just hate drugs. A lot of normal people don't experience euphoria from drugs at all, but just feel weird or at the very least realize they're doing something really bad for them that they don't want to repeat.

Also, a lot of people turn to meth because of the energy it gives you. Often times they feel overwhelmed with responsibilities, and taking meth and staying awake for days to get everything done seems like an okay way out (not condoning the use, though, I just somewhat understand why people get started on it. The dental damage makes my skin crawl though).

Of course, this is tumblr so I'm assuming none of these kids are doing anything but drugs and sleeping.

Someone needs to show these brats what happens when meth goes horribly wrong.

All this could be used as evidence against them in the court of law if they (or actual do, which is most likely) get in trouble. It's for all eyes to see.

They will so regret this one day. Wasting your twenties like that. Just getting to know my bio-dad who was a crack addict for over twenty years. He cleaned his life up at forty and is still struggling, being held back from his drug problem. He now has to compete with young eager-beavers who have their shit together on the job market as a washed-up fifty-something-year-old.
My bio-dad was lucky that there was no internet back then or he would have been stupidly in a stupor, archiveing his addiction.
They will probably be like him, but worse off.

What a waste of a life, at least your standard SJW has the chance to bounce back to a normal healthy life, these people, on the other hand are shit out of luck. Most of them are probably going to end up homeless in the street or in jail, because our justice system puts very little value on rehabilitation. If there is one thing every good friend should do is call their friends out on their bullshit when it is likely going to destroy their lives. Sadly, if the druggy is going as far as to be involved with an online community devoted to this, and one that devalues common sense, they are probably too far gone to be saved.

This blog right here: http://kinghenry-the-8ball.tumblr.com/ is a guy actually cooking and selling meth on tumblr, and you know... the occasional selfie.

This girl (http://misformeth.tumblr.com) is a particularly sad case when look at the SHEER AMOUNT of meth she goes through. She has plenty of selfies and a profile link to chaturbate in case anyone wonders who she is.

On a totally different note. I know fucked up this is, but after looking at all this, i feel less and less poorly about meth. I had always associated meth with pockmarked trailer trash. But seeing all these beautiful young people on meth, everybody sharing selfies and having nothing to hide, on some level makes me feel better about meth. I know how bad that sounds.

These people casually blogging with nothing to hide gives me the impression that there IS nothing to hide, and normalizes it to a degree. It doesnt feel much different from the vape tag or cigarette smoking.

Thank god im not an impressionable teen.....but I can totally understand if a young person after being exposed to this community might not feel that meth is so bad,

A lot of the horror stories around meth, like any other drug, are pretty exaggerated.

Progression from controlled use to addiction is not inexorable. Furthermore, a significant number of sample members experienced limited or no serious social, psychological, or physical dysfunction as a result of their methamphetamine use. Most germane to this study, we found that violence is not an inevitable outcome of even chronic methamphetamine use.

There's always going to be some number of idiot kids who have a greater potential for substance addiction and end up seriously fucking themselves over because of it, or exacerbate existing psychotic or schizophrenic tendencies, but meth is hardly a guaranteed death sentence.

I'm just confused as to why they chose meth of all drugs. It is, as you said, hardly glamorous or sexy, and that seems to be mostly what this is about.

I live in an economically depressed area that's developing a meth (& meth related crime) problem in the past few years. I've seen addicts at varying stages of addiction, and know a few folks that dabbled in it & decided it wasn't for them. There's quite a few misconceptions about it.

For one, it's comparable to adderol. In other words, it makes you really focused, on top of the world, & generally people find that they enjoy doing it while going to work or doing housework. It also makes people lose weight, which is a pretty big draw for some users. When people first start doing it, it enhances their quality of life, & they probably won't see any immediate negative side effects from casual meth use.

Fast forward about 1-5 years, they aren't eating hardly at all, lost their jobs because they ran out of meth & couldn't be bothered to stay awake, usually staying up for days at a time, smelling fucking horrible, covered in scabs from picking imaginary bugs out of their skin, usually prostituting or cooking or doing petty crime to make money for their next hit. It's usually on the tail end of a binge of this behavior that the person gets arrested. That's the faces of meth we typically see.

The problem is that there are more people in the earlier stage using it here & there that haven't gotten to the end stages yet. Meth is really bad for you, but you'd be surprised how long people do it before they end up losing their teeth, psychotic, & emaciated.

There's also a weird meth fetish going around as well. I saw a documentary where a guy would get sent money for meth, under the stipulation he shot it up on camera for someone. Basically, this is the perfect storm for tumblrinas to do meth for free, and as they burn themselves out they'll be replaced over & over again.

Alright, so I may be paranoid here, and I'm aware that these people wouldn't think about this but, is there any way for someone to be arrested from posting selfies of themselves on the same blog where they make and sell meth? I get that if someone posts a picture of them with an oil burner that's not going to get them into any shit since there's no way to prove it was used for meth, but straight up doing what this guy did? Or would there have to be a separate crime being committed that was traced back to him, and these pictures used as evidence?

Uh oh. It's rant time I guess:
It should go without saying that tumblr has yet again, added to the degradation of the up and coming generation. It's one thing to look at these pictures as an adult and say "wow, that's really dumb." But what if you were an impressionable teenager? Remember when it was just cutting pictures on myspace, and yet so many kids jumped on that bandwagon? Kids that would have never thought about turning to self harm, doing it because a myspace friend took some high contrast photo of themselves with blood trickling down their wrists? Now theres entire communities glorifying the usage of a highly addictive drug, which I'm sure to some degree is encouraging young girls to use and stay thin so they can fit in with their pro anna tumblirina friends?

This is exactly why I stay far, far away from this site. Not because I'm an impressionable teenager, but this literally makes me sick to think about. I don't have kids, I don't want kids, but this hits me so hard in the feels, thinking what the younger generation sees everyday when browsing tumblr, and not understanding the gravity of these risky behaviors. It's hard enough growing up as it is without meth being pushed in your face by people who got the completely opposite impression from Breaking Bad.

I FUCKING KNEW IT.

A ton of those girls in the meth tags have links to camming, and do sexy or topless poses with their meth stuff. Should have put 2 and 2 together.
Free Meth from followers. Perfect for the tumblr famous.

I take it you have not yet set foot in tumblr's expansive prostitution community?
Where prostitution is being sold to young girls as a totally legit way to make wads of cash while being a stronk independent wombyn?
Didn't you know prostitution is a good way to build confidence, positive body image, and become less shy?
Patience young grasshopper... that is another clusterfuck for another time :)

Also, your last bit really hit me in the feels. Tumblr took one of my loved ones.

IDK but his personal blog directly linked and he uses his real first name all the time. You can tell it's the same person because the backgrounds appliances and furniture for both blogs are the same.

He's in a long distance relationship with another user he met on the tumblr meth dating scene. Nothing more romantic than a man who showers his girl in crystals amirite?

i don't know much about the price of meth but that seems like a lot of money's worth

Of course this varies largely by state and purity, but at a going rate of $80 a gram (Based on his archives posts I think he's from Texas so that should be an appropriate estimate), that's nearly $25,000 worth of meth if he sold it by the gram. If had to guess, it'd be on the higher side since that looks pretty pure.

I'm somewhat astonished he (or whoever made that) has the courage/stupidity to post something like freely on the internet without worrying about either someone recognizing the surroundings and deciding now is a good time to rob him (tweakers are infamous for robbing each other) or the obvious, the feds catching wind of it and deciding to track down what's probably a major drug trafficker.
