So the wicca community, springing as it did from the heritage of 19th centuary occult societies and the narcissism of notorious con man Gerald Gardner; developing through the 60s and 70s picking up every pop-quack alternative medicine trend imaginable, is a ripe subject for these forums.

At some point the wider movement could no doubt fill a decent community watch thread. It is full of edgelords desperate to be different from their monotheistic suburban family, conmen selling all kinds of snake oil and 'ancient witchcraft rituals' lifted directly from hinduism, Zoroastrianism, masonic lodges, buddhism, German societies and various other groups that have been fringe-fashionable in the past century.

The community is full of demagogues screeching that their coven is the only true and honest ancient lineage and that all others are fake imitations so you should buy supplies, books, tears of the earth mother (PBUH) exclusively from them. It's great.

having seen what tumblr does to bastardize political theory and history I decided to search on tumblr to see what they would do with a subject that was already crazy, convoluted and obtuse. I wasn't disappointed.

Much like communism and non binary genders the appeal seems to come from a childish need to be different and not part of the white Christian capitalist society the vast majority of them live comfortably in.

You just need to know this stuff. Wiccans have on going issues that need to be addressed. Now, if you read this post and you feel like I’m being unfair to wiccans that do this kind of stuff, I’m most likely talking about people like you. Please note, this is mostly geared towards neo-wiccans. Get ready for a long one. So without further ado, Let’s get started!

The Blessed Be Buzzkill

Alright Wiccans ( or neowiccans I should say), you have got to stop putting blessed be in every post, in your blog title, in your description box and every other place you put it. “What? Why?! It’s only polite!” No, it’s not polite. Blessed be comes from a fertility ritual, you’re literally blessing someone’s genitals which is gross.

Along with that, People don’t want to be blessed by other people’s gods. For example, If I go to Hecate and I only wish to have her blessing alone, I don’t want to come back to her with a blessing from Artemis. I’d feel like I’m disrespecting my deity. So please bless another wiccan ( if you ask and they say it’s okay). Don’t bless everyone who has the displeasure of reading something of yours.

“ Curses/Hexes = so totally bad!!!!”

“Goodness, no! ” “Stop, think of humanity!!” “Don’t cast that curse!!” Well, there’s no nice way to put this.You don’t control witches at all. You know how some straight people were against LGBT+ people getting married because it was against their beliefs ? It’s the same concept here. You don’t want witches to curse because of your beliefs and that’s gross. Just because you believe in harming none, doesn’t necessarily mean every witch feels the same way.

Did you know, Witchcraft came before Wicca. Meaning, witches have been cursing for centuries and only since about the 1950’s they have to be told cursing is wrong and “real witches don’t curse”. Many times, curses are for justice and protection. So, why take those things away from other people?

“ Think about the Threefold Law!! ”

Threefold law is a lot more like threefold suggestion. You choose to believe in that all you want, but the world will never be that perfect. This is another reason as to why your argument on curses is lacking in sense. Many criminals walk free from their crimes, many good people are punished. If everything you do comes back to you, wouldn’t we have more people in Jail and more people rewarded for their actions? Once again, it’s not a law of witchcraft. Witchcraft has no law. It runs freely and listens to no one.

“ Black Magick” “White Magick”

“ Don’t practice black magick, it’s really evil” “ White magick should be the only kind you practice”. Are you serious? Not only does this have a racist attachment ( black is bad, white is good), it doesn’t make any sense. Magick is magick, why are you trying to divide it into easy to swallow pills? There is no clear line between good and bad in this craft. It is both good and bad at the exact same time. You don’t need to color witchcraft. The only color it needs are the colors you associate with your candles.

“ The Burning times”

No, no and no. That literally doesn’t effect you and it wasn’t like millions were killed either. That was anti-Semitic. It actually wasn’t about actual witchcraft. It was a free for all killing spree about nonsense. It was killing off the woman because she was beautiful. It was killing that person because they were richer. Witches and Witchcraft is just a cover.

Please, you wish I was a Wiccan. Witches don’t take after your religion. We just don’t. If we did, we’d be wiccans. Wicca doesn’t rule or dictate witchcraft. Wicca literally stems from a combination witchcraft and paganism and is controlled through a God and Goddess. Some witches don’t believe in any gods. Some witches aren’t pagan. Some witches are just witches that love to be their bewitching selves. Leave them alone, and let them witch on.

“All Christian holidays come from Paganism”

No. No they really don’t. They may look similar, but they’re celebrated so differently. Easter was about Christ not your goddess. Yule, shares its connections with commercialized Christmas not actual Christmas. Christians don’t really have Santa Clause in their bibles. Leave the Christians alone. Let them celebrate their holidays without you messing with them.

“Wicca = Witchcraft and it’s the oldest religion”

That’s cute but that’s not the case. Wicca will never be witchcraft. It just took from it, it’s not going to be it. That’s like saying that child is the mother. See, that doesn’t make sense. Witchcraft is not a religion. It’s a craft that anyone can pick up. You don’t believe in witchcraft the way you believe in a deity, you practice witchcraft.

If you’re a Wiccan that doesn’t do any of these things, thank you so so much for being a reasonable person. If you’re a new Wiccan, I hope this taught you something new. If you’re the kind of Wiccan I was talking about….

Reasons why some may not like "Blessed Be"


1,) It’s history:

Wicca is a fertility religion. The fact that “Blessed Be” stems from a ritual referencing sex and fertility should not be surprising. But for those who do not know where the phrase stems from, it comes from this ritual called The Five-fold Kiss:


“FIVE FOLD KISS FEMALE

The High Priest kneels before the High Priestess and gives her the Five Fold Kiss; that is, he kisses her on both feet, both knees, womb, both breasts, and the lips, starting with the right of each pair. He says, as he does this:

"Blessed be thy feet, that have brought thee in these ways.
Blessed be thy knees, that shall kneel at the sacred altar.
Blessed be thy womb, without which we would not be.
Blessed be thy breasts, formed in beauty.
Blessed be thy lips, that shall utter the Sacred Names.”

For the kiss on the lips, they embrace, length-to-length, with their feet, touching each others. When he reaches the womb, she spreads her arms wide, and the same after the kiss on the lips.

FIVE FOLD KISS MALE

Even if you don’t realize you’re referencing this, people can be reminded of it simply by you saying "Blessed Be”, and it can make them uncomfortable. In this case, listen to them and don’t fucking say it.

2.) They are uncomfortable with unsolicited religious blessings

Undoubtedly, Blessed Be is a blessing tied with religion. People who are not part of that religion, or are without religion completely, may not want to receive any sort of blessing from a religion that is not theirs. Same goes for people who say “God bless” to those who are not of an Abrahamic religion (since God inevitably is tied to YHWH in the west). This is just rude to do

3.) Its ties to the Wiccan God and Goddess

Like the “God bless” example listed above, many people associate “Blessed Be” with a blessing from the Wiccan Lord and Lady.

If someone is dedicated to a deity, and only wants interactions and blessings from that specific deity, then the blessing of deities from another pantheon would be unwanted and intrusive. This can be supremely annoying when one wants NOTHING to do with the Wiccan Lord and Lady.

So if someone says they would prefer you not say “Blessed Be” to them: listen to them. They’re not being “Wiccan-phobes”. They likely have a valid reason to request you refrain from blessing them. Just fucking listen to them

And remember, a secular blessing like “have a nice day” works just fine.

I'm curious. I've seen a lot of non-Wiccan pagans get really up in arms whenever a Wiccan tells them "blessed be", and yet you always see posts that are like "don't belittle someone who prays for you or prays for people just because you don't believe in it". Plus, you don't see them having a hissy fit when they're wished Merry Christmas. Just wanted to know why "Blessed be" is so offensive?

The main issue with it isn’t the fact that someone is just saying Blessed Be at someone. The issue is people are continuing to say Blessed Be at them after they’ve made it clear that they do not want the blessing directed toward them/it makes them uncomfortable (Because yes it stems from a fertility ritual and as an asexual that makes me a bit uncomfortable). It is the refusal to simply stop when someone has asked time and time again that you stop and playing the victim card when they get frustrated with you. It’s the constant refusal to simply respect someone’s wishes and simplystop.

As a Wiccan, I usually end any witchy conversation with “Blessed Be” just because that’s how I was taught. I know plenty of pagans who aren’t Wiccan who get very upset with the “Blessed Be” and, from what they’ve told me, it stems from the fact that Wicca seems to be the default answer when telling someone you’re Pagan. They don’t want to associate with Wicca if they’re not Wiccan, because people always assume, at least in their experience, that all Pagans are Wiccan and vice versa. For some people, that’s their aversion to the phrase.

But Sparrow is right as well. Blessed Bedoes stem from a fertility ritual, but it’s become more common to use it when parting ways or to just wish someone well. The refusal to stop saying the phrase might be what irritates some others. And while it’s true you shouldn’t belittle someone who prays for you, be mindful that you should respect others and their feelings. If what you’re doing makes them uncomfortable, you should also stop, especially if you want to maintain a mutual respect.

I found a spell in a book I’ve been reading that I think might help you out.

The first spell is a banishment spell to end any kind of relationship or contact with someone/something that you no longer wish to continue. You will need herbs of protection such as acacia, barley, basil, cinnamon, mandrake roots, primrose, pine rosemary, etc; and you will also need a picture of the person/thing that you are trying to banish attention from.

Gather the herbs and the picture in a safe container to burn and while they are burning recite the following:

I assume the bizzaro logic is that there must have been witches for the jews to receive commands to kill them. In any case it ignores the inconvenient fact that the ancient egyptians, babylonians and sumerians all left paintings of 'spellcasters' of various types.

On an unrelated note i mentioned earlier that the modern wicca/witchcraft movement has assimilated numerous magical fads over the years. These include neopagan fertility rites, occult satanism and my favourite- new edge post science spiritualism. Anyone searching or reading about witchcraft will very quickly come into contact with channeling and vibration energy- two new age concepts that have left their original home in alternative medicine and become a central part of modern 'magic'. It is insane and i love it.

Communicating With The Membrane


At this point in “time,” in this now, many of you have been exposed to the idea of different densities. There have been many writings on what kinds of beings exist in these other densities, and how their civilizations function. But there has been little explanation as to what actually separates one density from the next, besides the fact that there is a vibrational difference.

Vibrational frequency, a term that has become more and more common as people continue to awaken and ascend to the next level of consciousness, has everything to do with density. What is it that separates the third density from the fourth? Yes, you guessed it: vibrational frequency. So how does this differentiation between third-density and fourth-density vibration create two seemingly separate realities? The answer is the membrane which exists in between these two densities. Membranes exist between density levels. It is a natural construct of the multiverse. Its function is to create a sort of transitory boundary so that beings existing within the lower densities are contained in a certain range so that they may learn their planned lessons until their own vibrational frequency naturally progresses them into the next density.

Membranes have consciousness, just like everything else that exists. In fact, the essence of existence is consciousness. Without consciousness, existence wouldn’t exist, and now you may be seeing the paradox here, and that’s because all there is…is existence — consciousness.

Now having understood that, you may have realized that because vibrational membranes are conscious, they can interact with other consciousnesses, such as you. This is especially beneficial to know if you are just now familiarizing yourself with out-of-body experiences or astral projection. When your consciousness moves out of the physical, third-density structure of your body and into the malleable, transparent nature of the fourth-density, there is a membrane through which everyone passes. This very membrane is something that tends to be overlooked. Imagine it like the meniscus of a liquid — the visible divider between air and liquid. The meniscus between densities is aware of you, it knows you. If you hold the intention and focus on communicating with this meniscus or membrane, you can find ways in which you may pass through it more easily. Keep in mind that everyone has the ability to pass from one density to the next. It is simply latent in many individuals. But all it takes is awareness, intention and focus to start reintegrating these abilities.

Try this: sit comfortably or lie down and allow yourself to become relaxed. Close your eyes. After a few minutes, you may begin to feel the heavy yet comfortable pull of sleep on your consciousness. You may even become aware that you are stepping in and out of sleep in quick intervals. One moment you may be aware of your thoughts, and the next moment you may be realizing that you were beginning to dream. This awake/dream boundary is the very membrane between the third and fourth density. When you relax and allow yourself to let go, your vibration actually increases, which is why there is this phenomenon called “dreaming.” The dream world is just another density that your consciousness visits when your physical body heals and energizes itself as your awareness temporarily shifts to this other reality. I say awareness because your consciousness is always existing in every dimension and density simultaneously. Your consciousness never really moves anywhere. It’s your awareness that shifts and expands for you to you experience the ever-present existence of these other densities.

So when you become aware of this awake/dream boundary, talk to it, feel it. Express yourself to it. Ask it questions. Do whatever you feel may be beneficial to your growth. When you acknowledge and establish a relationship with this membrane, you may begin to see the world from a totally different perspective, and that is because you are integrating a newer, higher level of consciousness that we are all inevitably moving into at this very moment.

I assume the bizzaro logic is that there must have been witches for the jews to receive commands to kill them. In any case it ignores the inconvenient fact that the ancient egyptians, babylonians and sumerians all left paintings of 'spellcasters' of various types.

On an unrelated note i mentioned earlier that the modern wicca/witchcraft movement has assimilated numerous magical fads over the years. These include neopagan fertility rites, occult satanism and my favourite- new edge post science spiritualism. Anyone searching or reading about witchcraft will very quickly come into contact with channeling and vibration energy- two new age concepts that have left their original home in alternative medicine and become a central part of modern 'magic'. It is insane and i love it.

Communicating With The Membrane


At this point in “time,” in this now, many of you have been exposed to the idea of different densities. There have been many writings on what kinds of beings exist in these other densities, and how their civilizations function. But there has been little explanation as to what actually separates one density from the next, besides the fact that there is a vibrational difference.

Vibrational frequency, a term that has become more and more common as people continue to awaken and ascend to the next level of consciousness, has everything to do with density. What is it that separates the third density from the fourth? Yes, you guessed it: vibrational frequency. So how does this differentiation between third-density and fourth-density vibration create two seemingly separate realities? The answer is the membrane which exists in between these two densities. Membranes exist between density levels. It is a natural construct of the multiverse. Its function is to create a sort of transitory boundary so that beings existing within the lower densities are contained in a certain range so that they may learn their planned lessons until their own vibrational frequency naturally progresses them into the next density.

Membranes have consciousness, just like everything else that exists. In fact, the essence of existence is consciousness. Without consciousness, existence wouldn’t exist, and now you may be seeing the paradox here, and that’s because all there is…is existence — consciousness.

Now having understood that, you may have realized that because vibrational membranes are conscious, they can interact with other consciousnesses, such as you. This is especially beneficial to know if you are just now familiarizing yourself with out-of-body experiences or astral projection. When your consciousness moves out of the physical, third-density structure of your body and into the malleable, transparent nature of the fourth-density, there is a membrane through which everyone passes. This very membrane is something that tends to be overlooked. Imagine it like the meniscus of a liquid — the visible divider between air and liquid. The meniscus between densities is aware of you, it knows you. If you hold the intention and focus on communicating with this meniscus or membrane, you can find ways in which you may pass through it more easily. Keep in mind that everyone has the ability to pass from one density to the next. It is simply latent in many individuals. But all it takes is awareness, intention and focus to start reintegrating these abilities.

For example, they believe in harming none, trying not to offend anyone or anything and being at one with the universe. Wicca is fascinating, but it certainly has a lolcowistic strain to it, especially among the left.
