I don't like Gordon Ramsay's character for US television shows. He's in a lot of media and is actually a cool guy who is very patient and intuitive. It's a shame we couldn't be given shows where he acts like himself and instead has to be an over the top jackass at the behest of producers.

If you watch his British shows he is a lot more relaxed and "real" I loved watching his youtube shows and also the british shows. Hated the American ones.

Nah. In the universe of that show, no one, and I mean no one, would even give a fuck about anybody other than themselves. The show's basically an ode to moral and existential nihilism.

I'm not going to debate you on this, because there are good arguments for either side. But even if genuine altruism is going on, you're not the person who's going to identify it. You can't seem to pick out when that's happening. (This isn't a barb, this is serious, based on your adoption sperging.)

That's an interesting interpretation of the show, but I don't think it's a particularly sound one. While the relationships between the family come across as abrasive, I think there are plenty of situations that show how deeply they actually care for each other. The episode where they go visit Hal's family and Lois is shunned and "accidentally" left out of the family photo. The kids decide to hijack a golf cart and drive it through the party into a pool after they hear her crying about it. There's tons of other examples, of course, but that's the one that comes to mind.

Really, I think the key theme of Malcolm in the Middle is family sticking together and supporting each other through all kinds of fuck-ups.

I know, right? The Minions aren't cute, they're just annoying. I don't know why everyone obsesses over them, like that one overplayed song from Frozen...

I realized that all of the characters I listed are women (except the minions, I'm not sure what gender they are) and I guess since I try to write female characters who are strong and watchable, I tend to look at what I don't want to end up writing, and use that for good, like don't write a character whose attractiveness is constantly informed (Lois Griffin), or is a total Mary Sue (Zoey from Zoey 101), or is constantly in the right and way too smart for her own age (Lisa Simpson), or gets away with everything (Megan from Drake and Josh). I know, I'm talking way too much about my writing, I'll stop. BUT: Here are some male characters I dislike.

Rallo from The Cleveland Show: He's supposed to be like a Black Stewie Griffin mixed with Gary Coleman only he's 5. His voice is annoying, everything about him is unoriginal and annoying.

Mort Goldman from Family Guy: Remember when they did that episode of Family Guy, "When You Wished Upon a Weinstein" and a lot of Jewish leaders deemed it anti-semetic when in fact it was the exact opposite. The episode discussed how you shouldn't assume things about people based off of stereotypes, didn't do anything nasty against the Jewish religion--in fact, Peter wanted to convert Chris to Judaism because he assumed that Chris would not only be good at math, but would be happier and successful. I think a lot of the people who deemed the episode anti-Semetic didn't even watch it. I was raised in a reformed Jewish household--and even though I left the religion, and am now an atheist, I can spot something that is gratingly anti-Semetic, and that episode wasn't. But then they decided, "Hey, why not be anti-semetic, even though most of the writers are Jewish, not that the audience would know," and decided to add in Mort Goldman and his wife, Muriel, both are ugly, wimpy, and became (at least in the post-cancellation seasons) more and more stereotypically Jewish. More and more every single stereotype they can think of a Jew they gave Mort. Greedy. Done. Cheap. Done. Cowardly. Done. I wouldn't mind it, I mean Family Guy spares no one, but the thing is Mort is now part of Peter's circle of friends, and every other line he says is "blah blah, Jew joke, blah blah blah, oy." Why do they think it is funny? It's not funny! I mean, some of the jokes they make about Jews are funny, like watching Jewish porn--that was funny, Peter trying to be an Orthodox Jew to get off of work, that was funny, but you know why they are funny, because they aren't overly long gags, hateful, or actual characters. Either move Mort to the side, get rid of him, or change him, because he's not a character, he's an age-old caricature who was never funny.

I just plain loathe Agnes Skinner from The Simpsons. Originally she was just an overbearing mother but in recent years she's just plain abusive. One of the newer episodes I saw had her beat Skinner with her purse while he's having a panic attack. I heard they were going to kill off another character (another bid for ratings?) so I hope she's the one that croaks. Although I rarely watch the Simpsons anymore.

Yugi Mutou from Yu-Gi-Oh is irritating as fuck and the same is for Aichi Sendou from Cardfight! Vanguard.

I see a lot of the ones I hate were covered (everyone in Girls, Lucky, Stabler, assorted Family Guy characters, Lisa Simpson, etc). I like unsympathetic protagonists when done right. Peggy Hill is an example: she's an idiot know it all, but really amusing when in the spotlight just to watch her get ripped to shreds. Lucky, on the other hand, has none of this. Peggy, for all her faults, is at least a good wife and mother. Lucky is just there. His friends are more interesting than him.
While Marie from Breaking Bad is generally loathed, with good reason, she does at least advance the plot. Her heart is in the right place, but damned if her head isn't firmly wedged up her ass. I still don't like her.
Amy Pond was mentioned, here's my two cents on her: she was a great character in the first couple episodes. The Beast Below and Victory of the Daleks (underrated episode ruined by the new Dalek design) had her serve a purpose. She had a perspective the Doctor lacked. This insight saved the day. That said, agree to disagree all you want. She became useless as her run went on.
