I don't doubt that either, I'm sure that the romance was literally all she noticed. I'm also convinced that she thought Cato was the best character ever. I don't have any evidence for that, but given how much she loves sadists, it just seems likely.

Don't get me started on the Hunger Games fandom.

I mean, they very much remind me of the Death Note fans who are so shallow that they completely overlook the whole philosophical aspects of the manga and just turn it into a huge yaoifest and like it because of the guys that are so easy to ship together.

Some of the Hunger Games fans (the sane ones are okay) are kind of like that and only like it for the shipping and stuff and are also very surfacey.

Actually, Bella and Edward's love story is better than them. When I was in college, I wrote a lot of papers from a feminine perspective (it's an easy way to write) on the Princess Bride. Buttercup is an idiot and it doesn't bother anyone, all that matters is that she's beautiful.
