Twitch has always had to cope with the fact that their big earners are "problematic" and shape the culture of the platform. They want so badly to have the face of Twitch be some squeaky-clean family-friendly personality, but they can't make it happen. Just go to the front page of Twitch right now and see who they have featured at the top - at the time of this post, some of these channels are barely hitting 1k viewers. Meanwhile, a French Canadian who can barely speak properly is losing match after match of Chess to the tune of 60k viewers. LOL.

For a long time we've needed a Twitch thread in Community Watch. It'd be awesome if someone could get it going - there's a shitload of content to dump there.

Seriously, this stranglehold Twitch has on streaming is so fucking obnoxious. They abuse their power and don’t even try to disguise it. They give passes to “hawt gamer grils :p” because ??? and have alienated a huge portion of would-be viewers.

Personally, I’ve always hated Twitch. I think it’s just a camwhore site for people under 18. Seriously, whenever I get a Twitch thot clip recommended to me on YouTube, I wanna punch a hole in some drywall. I don’t understand why these children/man-children spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars on soft core porn when you can get on a real cam site and jerk your cock off to kingdom come for a fraction of what you’d spend on a shoutout on some lame-ass Twitch thot.

Twitch went from a place where you can find funny content aggregators to a site colloquially recognized for hosting some of the most pathetic “men” the internet has created. If you spend money on female Twitch streamers, you probably shouldn’t be allowed money.

But they don't really have a stranglehold on streaming - Youtube and Facebook maintain solid platforms that are siphoning from Twitch and have been for years, through larger audiences and better features.

They did a few years back - but they've just been constantly shitting themselves and doing dumb stuff and have spent 0 time actually improving the platform. At the current rate, I'd be shocked if Twitch is even a consideration in 2022 - I expect Youtube to strike hard against them in 2021.
