Actually it's in the "if it doesn't sort itself out, it will die" phase. Nearly all of its members are Momentumite swivel-eyes of the SJW and London Metro crowd, making them worse than fucking useless when it comes to actual issues to be fixed. It has legions of members now but basically no donors of any note to help keep the party functioning if a general election came.Yeah, the labour party is pretty firmly entrenched in the 'shit oneself and do nothing' phase of their political cycle at the moment. This is probably the best we can expect of them for a while.
Although who this would be useful to would depend on how much the annual fee was.An associate membership could provide all the rights of full European citizenship, for example the right to freedom of movement, access to healthcare in the EU and the right to reside in EU member states. Following the reciprocal principle of “no taxation without representation”, these associate citizens would pay some form of annual membership fee directly into the EU budget. In return, EU associate citizens would be able to stand and vote in European elections via trans-national European lists, which we hope will replace the vacant seats of the 73 British MEPs who will be departing in 2019.
I have no doubt it would have been better for the UK to stay with us in the European Union. But if Brexit means Brexit, then I see no reason why the EU should not, in principle, offer an individual EU associate citizenship to UK citizens who wish to maintain their European identity.
It'll be aimed and yuppies and be an obscene amount. To be honest the EU is reliant a lot on "the 48%" when in reality it's just some twattish London metrosexuals and moronic uni kids. They had some protest at Richmond, declared there was "an excellent turnout" and other photos came in showing 20 or so people there. Here's an interesting idea that's currently being proposed in the EU:
Although who this would be useful to would depend on how much the annual fee was.
That's been simmering for a while.
These are also the first polls that finally take into account shy tories and they've started calling people in the evening to ask who they'd vote for. That's been simmering for a while.
Also another raft of polling came out. Tories enjoy a massive lead on all the important issues. Cobyn's polls are in the dolldrums.
I dunno, it seems like Labour actually have something of a habit of coming close to death and rebounding. They nearly got wiped out at the start of the 1930s by their spectacularly shitty handling of the Great Depression, but managed to hang on because this coincided with over half of the old Liberal party jumping ship to join the Tories. Then they nearly committed suicide with their insane policies in the early 1980s, but the SDP got fucked over by the electoral system and Labour managed to elect a halfway competent leader in time to save their skins. We're looking at the death of Labour and there's nobody obvious to save it when their last attempt was a whiny Welsh nerd people barely remember the fucking name of but who was a massive narcissistic twat.
That took labour 18 years. Then they nearly committed suicide with their insane policies in the early 1980s, but the SDP got fucked over by the electoral system and Labour managed to elect a halfway competent leader in time to save their skins.
It's quite sad really. While I'm no Tory, I'm more than willing to give them a chance to govern. But without a strong, non exceptional opposition, they have a tendency to do something exceptionally stupid because they think they can get away with it.I dont think we can expect a lab government untill 2025 at the earliest, 2030 if the tories pull of a decent brexit.
How shit do you have to be at politics to be losing so badly to this tory party? It is sad to be honest, the nutters leading momentum, who are largely the same clique left over from millitant are driving the labour party into irrelevence in the face of what should be a weak tory gov and a collapsed liberal vote. I dont think we can expect a lab government untill 2025 at the earliest, 2030 if the tories pull of a decent brexit.
Well, obviously Palestinians are the sorts of people that will support the progressive agenda, duh!Racism is bad except against the jews because reeeeeeeee
It's becoming obvious we need a new party in the system, Labour's a shambling corpse, the Lib Dems are all but wiped out and desperately chasing "people who voted Remain" (which has seen them gain exactly 0% in the polls) and the Tories are sort of trundling along doing what they always do (endure, adapt, rule).Paul Nuttall confirmed as the new UKIP leader. Make or break time for the party now; either they'll smash Labour into oblivion at the next election, or they'll get screwed by the electoral system again and probably collapse.
Granted, that does rely on them actually making it to the next election, given that their finances apparently aren't in great shape, though Nuttall's election might bring some of their donors back into the fold.
