No they won't. Smacking them down would require America to have to ability and popular will to do it. Neither exists. It would take 6 months to a year to muster the necessary forces to "do something about it", and in the interim the political backlash within America would be enormous. Our leadership class has subjected us to two decades of unending war. They can't just snap there fingers and tell the American people that now, after all that wasted blood and treasure its time for a great power war over a country a majority of our population can't locate on a map. It's not going to happen.

They have to beat Ukraine, the Baltics, Poland, and Finland (probably), while their main source of cash suddenly disappears and critical industries get yeeted by precision bombing from planes they cannot intercept or detect effectively. You could cripple the entire Russian state in less than three months.

B-2. The F-35 will rip through the current Russian air defenses as well. Combine them with Growlers and you can say goodbye to the entire Kola Peninsula’s air defense network. And once that’s gone, you can have B-52’s shit out cruise missiles like candy well within range of the majority of Russia’s industry and military command centers.

Russia’s defense industry imploded after the collapse of the USSR. They lost the T-80 factories and the T-90 is just an improved T-72 - same design flaws and the Armata is fucking vaporware. They have attempted modernization efforts, but it hasn’t been as wide spread as they’d like as they simply can’t afford it. On the naval side of things it’s even worse for the Russians, and in the air even worse than that. The Su-27 is a perfectly good fighter but it just can’t compete with the F-22 or F-35. The MiG-29 is also in a similar position. They have what, 20 of their new stealth plane that doesn’t even have fucking S-ducts meaning that radar signature wise they’ll light up like Christmas trees from the front.
