So Adam Sandler's new movie, Uncut Gems, comes out tomorrow in my area. I've seen that it was already released on the 13th, though. Wanted to make a thread to talk about the movie and if anyone has seen it/is going to see it.

You could chain by testicles to a cannonball and fire it into the theater and I'd still find a way to get out of watching this abortion of cinema.
It's a great film. Adam Sandler can act, particularly if the character is sufficiently Jewish in spirit.

I love watching actors play against type and change audience perceptions of their talents. I can't wait to see it.
I didnt mind it, but I downloaded it, wouldnt pay to see it and wouldnt watch it twice.
Its okay. But how the story is told is really annoying. The only thing I really liked about it was how they portrayed a degenerate gambler.
Also the soundtrack is fucking loud, at times too loud, louder than the dialogue.

Sandler has that down since Reign Over Me and even Click to an extent.

I'm interested in seeing it. So far I've liked most of Adam Sandler's serious portrayals, like Punch Drunk Love and Reign Over Me. I wish he'd do more noncomedy roles.

I thought the film was fantastic, knowing a lot of degenerate gamblers it felt very true to life seeing Sandler's character just abandoning all common sense in his attempt for his big win. Even though he was an utterly terrible person I couldn't help but root for him.
Also the chick playing his love interest was a total doll. Didn't even show off her tits and was really hot to look at.
Lastly major kudos to the director for using accurate phones & software for the period (2012) and not dumbing down the gambling jargon for the lowest common denominator. I hate when you watch a new movie and the characters use fake OSes or have to explain what a "parlay" is.

I saw the Safdie Brothers' previous movie, Good Time, and it was fan-freaking-tastic. I also love it when Adam Sandler takes on a more serious role.
So, needless to say, I am very interested in checking this movie out when I have the time. Hopefully it will still be in theaters past January 5th.
