I'm sure lots of that is because of the western (esp. American) misconception of Caucasian = average white Anglo-Saxon instead of, y'know, people from or derived from the Caucasus. I wish culture at large would move past this mistake too.

They can mooch off that falsehood.
Something else worth mentioning is that the largest empire in recorded history was the Mongolian empire. It's estimated that a third of the world's population were enslaved and killed by the Mongolians.

Well, being charitable you could interpret it in the sense of "You may oppress my body but my mind remains free", or something along those lines.
