Unintentionally funny moments on tv -

Did anybody see Intervention tonight? There was this 18 year old boy, Andrew, with anorexia, he began to exercise like crazy mad to get into the Marines. Once he got into the Marines, he claimed that he was touched inappropriately in boot camp, so he left. After he came home, feeling like a failure, he began to binge and purge. Ok, that's bad.

The unintentionally funny part was that Andrew was acting like a total drama queen through the whole episode. He'd go into these whiney anger sprees when his mom began to nag at him about his binge eating. Turns out he sent the tape to intervention, and fooled his whole family, that part was confusing, he was upset that he didn't get the help his way...the only reason why they kept on doing the intervention was because it was pretty obvious that Andrew is dying.

spoiler alert ....
he stayed in rehab, and he looks like a completely different person.

Oh yeah, catwoman. I noticed that a couple of hours before the oscars came on, amc was showing catwoman. Little joke toward hallie, since they show Oscar winners movies around this time of the month?

Maybe it was intentional.

Laugh at tragedy

lol, and that was the last time he was ever on tv.

hee, turns out so many people sent him hate mail when that happened in '07, he had a custom email for it:

He's no doubt taking a lot of heat for this, but at least he's being a man and addressing the negative response. I give him a lot of credit for that. Here's his actual email response to my (admittedly smart-a**ed) comments...

I'm making a point of responding to everyone's e-mail, so you have a better understanding of exactly what transpired.

Here's what happened that night. Coming out of the commercial break, I was caught off guard by a humorous comment. Unfortunately it caused me to start laughing at the most inopportune time possible. As with the old Mary Tyler Moore episode where she couldn't stop laughing at the funeral of a clown, I too had trouble controlling my laugh. Unfortunately, that laugh was contagious and extended to the next story my co-anchor read. There was additional laughter heard on the set from others. Let me ASSURE you that NO ONE was laughing at the content of the story I was reading, including me. I have covered many accidents in my 12 years in broadcasting and know the pain that is associated with this tragic, unexpected incidents.

I tried to correct the situation during the reading of the story, which I think is clearly evident from the clip that you viewed. Unfortunately and understandably, that wasn't enough. Also, unfortunately, you didn't see the entire newscast, because two minutes after the story aired, my co-anchor and I apologized for our inappropriate laughter. Of course that segment was left off the liveleak.com website.

The following day, we aired a Viewers Voice segment acknowledging the viewers' comments about the segment and explaining what happened.

We are human. We all make mistakes. I am certainly not immue from that, as evidenced from Thursday's broadcast. I simply ask people to take that into consideration all the facts and the subsequent apologies that were not aired on liveleak.com and other websites. Most of all, I want people to understand that I am not a heartless, uncaring anchor. I feel for the family involved in the accident and for anyone else that may have been hurt by our newscast.

Thanks again for writing. I hope this gives you a better understanding of what happened.

I'm really tired, and I just randomly began cracking up about that time on Quantum Leap where Sam leaped into a mentally challenged man, and when he realizes it, he pauses and goes ....

...I'm retarded? :o

its just Scott Bakula's delivery of the line that slays me every time.

I was watching a Matlock from 1993, 1994 and this old man said "diaabeetus" like like Wilford Brimley says it in those Liberty Medical commercials. It totally caught me off guard, I thought Wilford was the only guy who said it like that.

Oh no, my grandparents say it like that. But too be fair, they're from old school Brooklyn and butcher the English language in that old-fashioned way.
Actually, they probably learned what "diabeetus" was FROM the commercials so that makes sense too.

I would have to say most serious moments in Power Rangers. Sometimes the acting abilities there, other times not. Hell, anything in Samurai, where the acting ability is around middle-school play.
