Unpopular Opinions about anime/manga -

I kinda agree with FMA. Where it excels is that it’s tightly plotted, but that’s just basic prerequisite storytelling stuff that most anime simply don’t hit. And while everything else is pretty good - good characters, good story, good plot twists, above-average edge for a Shonen - nothing stands out as 10/10 excellent. FMA is like the most 7/10 show I’ve ever watched where I can confidently say every aspect is pretty good, but nothing stands out in a particularly exciting way that sticks with me afterwards.

Live action adaptions of anime would be easier to do if they were turned into musicals.

Also reading > watching, except for Iruma-kun, and that was in part because they added musical numbers and the manga translations were dog shit.

I would welcome this with open arms, but the only musical anime I really liked without cringing over was Nerima Daikon Brothers and it was literally The Blues Brothers on crack. Fan stage plays and musicals are probably the way to go at this point, but even those make my spine calcify.

Like, the fact that it’s decently plotted and paced certainly makes it stand out, just… not in a particularly exciting way.
If you put it like that, Demon Slayer is like the next generation's FMA in some way. They both do everything pretty good but nothing (other than the animation) stands out as a 10/10. They both also stand out as excellent introductions to those wishing to get into the medium as a whole.

Death Note is great up until L gets killed. It falls apart after that, the author introduces a new younger L rather than coming up with something original.
That's literally the most common opinion about Death Note, it's even alleged that Shonen Jump forced the author to continue the story after that point in the story. But rumors are rumors and apparently the manga handled Light's defeat better since the anime rushed it.

Well Death Note's musical adaptation was cerainly better than the American live action adaptation to be certain (never saw the Japanese live action films)

DBZ sucks compared to DB Classic, Z has the problem of attacks being too drawn out, everyone besides Goku or Vegeta being either a punching bag or a cheerleader and them introducing so many unnecessary transformations and power-ups, i also preffer the more slapstick comedy driven Classic.

while not sucking as much i also think YuGiOh! Dual Monsters is pretty "meh" compared to Yami Games/Season 0, the softer tone and focus exclusively on the card games is just less appealing to me compared to the more brutal tone and variety of games of Season 0/Yami Games and like DBZ, it also has the cheerleader problem where everyone but the main character is a cheerleader or gets beaten easily, hell they apparently gave Joey a powerup once and never used it again so Yugi could get more screentime.

Yu-gi-oh worked as an Egyptian sorcery story. The card game, from the beginning, was a means to learn more about Yami's past. That's all the game was and why it's so unbalanced; it needs to have plays that DRAMATICALLY affect the direction of the game. The second the card game itself became the story was when the story ended. Now it's a bunch of smucks trying to become professional players? The previous stakes were life and death from magic.

I didn't watch original Dragon Ball but I can tell it probably was better since it had a clear beginning, middle, and end. While Z seems to have a major issue of dragging itself since I could never get into DBZ due to how slow the show was along with being repetitive. I personally think this is one of those shows that are held up that strongly due to how many people watched it as children
