"Girl with curled hair in a modern fancy dress" tells me literally nothing about the book, other than it being shit for teenage girls about hunky hot guys with paaaaain wanting to fuck some plain chick, who makes them wait, because she ain't no slut like that.I almost forgot that similar issue. Re-releasing old books isn't bad at all. But when you change the cover and make it more simplistic and boring? That's not it, man. Also, I find it silly when books get a movie adaptation, and then get re-released with covers depicting the movie actors.
I haven't read all these, but these are all interesting. You get an idea of the characters, or the setting of the book. They make you want to know what's going on or where they are.
These feel more boring and aside from giving you an idea of the main character, don't give you any idea of the actual story. I will say, though, from a cursory glance these are actually in the minority. Most recent fantasy releases had artwork on the covers (of varying detail). Maybe the trend is going down, or maybe I overestimated how many covers were like this. It does make me hopeful.
Kind of the same as the books with the "headless muscled male torso " ones, but there she is that kind of a slut.
