Rendezvous with Rama is one of the two books that are the reason I want to be an author, and it's one of the best science fiction books IMO. The sequels are good, but not as inspiring to me. I've never read much else of Clarke because my local bookstore never had any of his books - I only just recently bought a second Clarke book, Imperial Earth, which I intend to read soon.
I mean, I can't front on it. "Work hard, study engineering, and learn how to cheat on your taxes" is pretty good advice in any era.
Forgive me, I loved Rendezvous with Rama, but I read it so long ago I don't remember enough detail to say more than "man that was a good book."

It's insane, I don't mind women authors but the vast majority of books I read are from male authors, especially in science fiction and fantasy genres. With all of the dribble that comes from goodreads or most/all book review sites there should be a drinking game based on it. where while you scroll through good reads and read the descriptions, take a shot if it's any of those woke points, down the whole bottle if its all three into one unholy abomination.
