I love nashi pears. They're absurdly delicious. They're shaped like apples and have the same firm texture, but with the taste of a pear. I think people who don't like pears don't like the mealy texture some of them have.

Pears with cheese is excellent. A very traditional Florentine snack.
There is a Macedonian soda called "Strumka" which is pear flavoured. Absolutely my favourite soft drink. Goes great with vodka, too.
I think people find them boring or think of them as an old people fruit lol. A good pear is soft but not mushy, velvety smooth, juicy, and sweet. Pears are dope.
My parents fed me pears every day for fifteen years. It's not that I dislike pears, it's just that I don't want to see a single pear again for the rest of my life.

Does anyone actually enjoy vegetables? I eat a lot of them and always have, given my propensity to the fitness/gym lifestyle and a sort of inner voice that says 'you should.' But I really can't say I've eaten some broccoli or mushrooms and thought, 'god damn, these are fucking delicious.' They're just... there, and only made palatable by the surrounding meat, fish, or sauces.

I love most cruciferous vegetables, and will eat broccoli or cauliflower in any form from raw to cooked with cheese, literally just any way. And cabbage is awesome. Potatoes and carrots and celery are great. Onions are the bomb. How could anyone not like these things? Also any kind of greens. Collard greens, mustard greens, turnip greens. Those are best fried in bacon grease. Arugula, watercress, radishes.
What is there not to like?

I mean if you're eating said vegetables with cheese, you're not really enjoying them for what they are, are you? I should have been more specific outside of my hyperbole: a vegetable has never improved a dish for me beyond how it would have tasted without. There's just an 'extra' that doesn't necessarily add anything insofar as taste, just added matter to fill my stomach. Onions are great, but on their own? Carrots are great in hummus or with some butter, but on their own?
I don't eat cabbage period, it tastes like three day old mouldy diarrhoea.
You should get frisky with different spices and cooking methods. Also a serving or two of butter, oil, or bacon fat goes a long way in making vegetables delicious without wrecking a diet.
Okay yeah. I think onions improve beef if they're pan fried, like a fajita. Carrots get really sweet when cooked and improve any stew, same with potato. Eating raw vegetables definitely isn't a favorite.
Cauliflower and broccoli are great raw. I'll also eat spinach in any form. Even that canned Popeye shit.
Steamed, plain-ass vegetables are great if you do it just right and don't make them soggy and miserable. Carrots, green beans, and ofc brussel sprouts just need some steaming and I'll fuck them up. Maybe a sprinkle of salt, but I don't need to be putting on airs. I just like a vegetable.

Hershey's Bars do not taste like vomit. I don't think anyone on this planet will argue with you that a Hershey's is shitty chocolate, but the vomit thing is a childish exaggeration at best. If anything the worst part about any Hershey's chocolate is that its extremely bland and flavorless.

Brussel sprouts are awesome! I also happen to adore salads. No, I'm not a vegetarian or vegan, but was raised with grandparents and great aunties and uncles who survived the depression and raised every kind of fruit/vegetable you can imagine.
I find the texture very off-putting it is granular or cellular like you can feel each cell.
Peas. Especially freshly picked. And tomatoes but I spose that is fruit? But on fruit - especially if you are from the place the fruit is native or likes the environment. English apples - great. Buying mango in England - utter disappointment. Why I only eat fruit very very rarely. Like on vacation.
I agree cooking them well as in still al dente is key. Nothing worse than vegetable plap. Most fussy eaters I've known had their parents cook veg in the till death and beyond and it put them off for decades.
Also. Ribeye is the best steak cut.

On the topic of veggies, I’m not a big fan of onions. I’ll eat them if the dish includes them, but I’ll never go out of my way to buy onions or request them as an addition.

Marbling makes steaks worse and you should pay less not more.

I have an opinion like that regarding Wagyu on its lower A grades. I legit do think you want some marbling, if only because that means your cut has less tough fibers. But Wagyu always looks like it's all fat and fuck dat.
I'd rather just get an Eye Round and Pineapple that fucker.

Eat a 9oz Wagyu ribeye? Your gonna have a bad time. Both during and after your meal. Just the sheer volume of fat your eating will destroy your colon. Those you bitch it made them sick or tastes like nothing ate too much in the typical Yankee fatty style.
It needs to be cut super thin, cooked super hot and served almost blue. Only season with a touch of salt and maybe pepper. But when your paying so much why would you want to hide the taste? Done right it a goddamn life changing experience.
Now I've only ever had 100% Wagyu none of the Aussie 1\4 halfbreed shit dumbass pay $100lb for.
