I really enjoy Sonic R. I think most of the complaints with that game are from people that played the PC version WITHOUT a joystick back in the day, but even on the Saturn version it was playable. The game has the catchiest tunes I've ever heard and get stuck in my head for days. The game should have had more tracks though because 4 is just not enough (and if you're going to do 4 tracks a GP, then at least take the Mario Kart route and divide it into "Cups"). Just make sure you haven't unlocked Super Sonic yet before you set the difficulty high to race the other secret characters because he truely is unbeatable.
I had the PC version as a kid, but I replayed it via the Gems Collection on Dolphin a while back. It was a freakin' blast. A racing game with incentives to search the environment for tokens to unlock new content, all while trying finish first to secure those unlocks? I love it. Totally agree on the low amount of tracks, though. I feel like they should've added three more so that there would've been one Chaos Emerald per-track, for a total of eight tracks.

Streets Of Rage 4 is not better than it's predecessors. I don't like the art style (they shoulda just stuck to pixel art). They decided to throw in a Jax knockoff on steroids and I don't like juggling mechanics in a beat 'em up. The only things they got right was the music and that's because they actually brought in the original composer from the previous 3 games to do some of it and the fact that you can catch the weapons that you throw at enemies after it bounces off them and then throw them again. Also they made Axel look like a fucking homeless bum who rolled out of his cardboard box to fight bad guys.
streets of rage 4 has the perfect storm going on; the side-scrolling beat-em-up genre is pretty dry atm, it's a recognized title within the genre, and it has online co-op, something that a surprising amount of games like it don't have

unless they REALLY drop the ball it's going to do well

Pokemon GO is garbage. If I wanted to play a pokemon game I would just play a pokemon game and not a mobile game made to empty the pockets of casual asshats who play it.
I actually haven't even opened the app in months mainly because of lack of interest (My progress isn't even that far and I didn't even get a single legendary mainly because few of the raids (?) I'm in have pretty bad low levelled players). The concept was fine the first time but it weared out later.

I'll give credit to Niantic for still making it a good hit however.

I'll chime in with my RDR2 hot take, RDR2 is one of the most boring games I've played from a story perspective. 95% of the dialogue is "get up on here Arthur!" followed by various grunts and burps. I quit out of boredom at around the 25 hour mark and I think I recall maybe one conversation that wasn't mind numbingly dull. What makes this extremely confusing is basically every review spergs about how good the dialogue and story are.

I don't get it.
Dont forget when the dialouge finally gets interesting and the characters are getting real. It will be interrupted by you arriving at your destination.

Most of the characters are boring and 2d. It was very clear from the start which characters were the authors favorites. Arthur being the one exception as a really good protagonist. The story is decent tough.

Sadie addler sucks as a character she goes from shy housewife to fucking psychopath in a chapter and all the people around her think its fine and encourages her. She would have been so much better if she would have been allowed to be a love interest to Arthur. As i think that would have allowed her to grow so much more.

The writing is all over the place, sometimes literally. I missed a compelling character reveal by accident because they decided to sneak that shit in while you were escorting a wise and noble Indian chief. By that point you've heard almost 15 hours of tepid dialogue when travelling in story missions, but whoops should've been slower instead of trying to play the game at your own pace.

She's only slightly less boring than everyone else and it has nothing to do with the fact that she's female or whatever. I'm talking about her character and only because I feel like she'd gotten just a little more extra time in the spotlight than the other two fags she was teamed with.
Seriously mah nig? Aqua? Did we play the same game?

She's got a good design, and was fun to play as, but goddamn her character was bland

Someone like Larxene showed more personality in around 30 minutes of screentime than Aqua did over three games

Morrowind isn't that good. It's alright, probably the best game bethesda has made in the past 20 years, but it's not an amazing rpg. The main quest has some cool things about it, the alien environment and lore are really cool, dunmer culture and history feels really well developed, but that's about it (also the soundtrack, but I love all tes soundtracks). The gameplay sucks-combat, magic, stealth are awful. Most quests are pretty bad-go here, kill this guy/fetch this item, at least future elder scrolls games try to have interesting plots or twists. The dungeons are all very samey (hell, its an ES game, wtf do I expect). There isn't any reason to play the game more than once-all differences in races mean nothing in the late game, and you should really only go for a combat/magic hybrid build.

Also, Morrowind really isn't as "unforgiving" as people say it is. Seriously, Oblivion is harder. It is incredibly easy to cheese the game, and all you have to do is level up your skills on low-level enemies/dungeons, get some good gear, and soon you'll be godlike.

I just don't understand why some people swear by this game like it's a masterpiece.

Also, oblivion is a broken trashfire and i don't see how you can unironically enjoy it (outside of having a few decent quests and music) and skyrim is mostly boring and I only like it because it blew my 11-year-old brain away. They both have mostly the same problems Morrowind have but in more boring worlds that could have been way cooler (actually I think skyrim has a few really cool areas and some decent lore).

Sorry for rambly sperg post, I'm late night posting.

It's cheaper.
I can see it making sense if your household already has a Switch and a decent game collection and you’re getting it as a console for your kid or your little brother or something - at least in a case like that the $100 cost difference wouldn’t be immediately eaten up by, like, two fuckin games.

If you’re thinking of buying one for yourself though, just spend the extra $100. If you can afford $200 plus at least another $100-200 worth of games, you can afford to save up for another month or so.

Sorry man but I'm not going to spend an extra 100 dollars for a tablet.

They added an Epilogue for the Xenoblade 1 remaster.

It apparently leads to what happens in Xenoblade Chronicles X and Xenoblade 2 at the same time.

I think this means we're getting an X-Remaster with the quasi online bullshit removed.

Didn't X take place in a completely different timeline though? I know 1 and 2 were connected, but the events that lead to those two and the events that lead to X are contradictory aren't they?
Apparently there's going to be split timelines if what I'm understanding is correct. Like the Mirror Universe TNG episode where all timelines converge at a single moment.
