When I played Metal Gear Solid 2 for the first time in my life, I actually did not give a single damn about playing as Raiden, granted I was 8 or 9 back then and I only played a demo of MGS 1. Still I wanted to play as Snake but I didn't mind playing as an adrogynous man whose past was being a child soldier.

I like COD, the campaigns generally suck though. At least the multiplayer is fair, granted the 13 year olds make it pretty unbearable sometimes. Although I'm a little tired of the same old MP style of small maps and no vehicles.

The story in Mother 3 is pretentious nonsense. I more consider Deus Ex the golden standard for videogame storytelling.

Daikatana... doesnt totally suck. I bought it expecting something along the lines of BIG RIGS OVER THE ROAD RACING and... its ok. Not great, but it certinly feels like the Duke Nukem Forever of its time. Take that as you will.
Maybe it's me but I'd like Daikatana if it were absolute shit. After all the time it took to make it needs to be either great or an epic train wreck. It was just meh.

I enjoy Resident Evil 6. Not my fave game but I had fun with it. Also while I'm on the subject I'm totally cool with the more action based gameplay of the past few games.

I honestly believe Gothic 2: Night of the Raven is overrated. Sure, a fan could say I can play Gothic 2 without the add-on but the disc won't let me. I honestly believe the first game is better because the final boss can fight whether you use range or melee (the final boss is the Sleeper, a demon who gets help from greater demons when you peirce a heart, and the number of weak human worshippers he has.), the final boss in Gothic 2 was an undead dragon who can be troublesome in melee yet in ranged combat, he did nothing except take my arrows like a giant idiot.

My brother and I really enjoy Resident Evil 5 and didn't see it as the cancer that was killing Resident Evil like pretty much anyone on the internet has ever said. However, the game is infinitely more fun when you're playing co-op rather than letting the AI control Sheva. We both agree that if you're playing the game alone it's not that good though, and that Resident Evil 6 isn't a good game overall. And Resident Evil 4 is still my favorite one hands down.

I...actually kinda like Sonic 06. Not because it has redeeming qualities (although the soundtrack's amazing) or anything, but because it's so fun to see how badly you can break the game. This is the definition of So Bad, it's Good in a video game to me. It's utterly hilarious to get outside the invisible wall of the Silver fight and either get shot to the moon or have Silver break out of the invisible wall as well and chase you through all of Soleanna. It's awesome using the Purple Gem to infinitely jump and see how badly the levels are programmed. Oh, and I can abuse the light-speed dash enough in the Mach Speed sections so that I can beat Crisis City without getting hit. The story is shit, through and through though, and the game itself is a prime example of how not to make a game.

And I actually kinda like the N64 controller. Enough to make me get an adapter so I can connect one to my PC and use it to play an N64 emulator. I'd chalk it up to nostalgia, though, since I've played with it recently and the analog stick is terrible and the N64 was my first console. Also, if you've ever played the original Mario Party, your control stick is doomed. I don't care how small your hands are, your control stick is pretty much toast. That said, it works great in the emulator, and the D-Pad is pretty much the same as on an SNES controller. Combine that with the fact that the buttons are shaped like a 6-button controller or even a 4-button controller if you're just using the C Buttons, and it's a decent controller to use for emulators.

Oh. And Fallout 3 is miles better than New Vegas.

Well, I have a few opinions to share.

For one, Pokemon blows in my opinion. It's fun at first, yeah.. But then after awhile, it starts to lose it appeal, and the quest to "Be the best" and "Collect them all", becomes a chore. Fighting isn't very satisfying, let alone entertaining: It took years for Nintendo to animate the bloody damn sprites in battle mode, which amazes me. How the hell hard is it to animate a fucking sprite of a Pokemon? I can understand the early days, but in much, MUCH later games, they were still pretty much cardboard cutouts until I think white and black. Also, bland name is bland. What's next? Pokemon Left and Pokemon right? I could go on and on, but to keep it simple, Pokemon doesn't deserve all the praise it gets. It's been done to death, put it down Nintendo.

I know Fable II isn't really that great of a game, sure.. But I like the game regardless. I love how much replay value the game has, not so much in the number of quest and moral options, but mainly in playstyles: One game, I was a strong, hammer-wielding paladin who fought for justice, the next I was a greedy bandit who was a real crack-shot with his 6-shooter, and in the last game I played (which I haven't finished yet), I was playing a dark wizard, worshipper of the shadows. Next time I pick up the game, I might play a game as a poor bum with a kind heart who fights with only rusty weapons. This, my friends, is what I love about Fable II. Fable III, on the other hand, can suck my poop.

As for Counterstrike, I don't understand how this game EVER got popular. It's not fun in the slightest. Why the hell isn't there respawn? Why do you have to lose all your weapons when you die (Mostly in the most unfair way)? Why do you have to sit through the WHOLE FUCKING ROUND after dying? Why does armor do nothing to protect you? How can I get better at this game if it punishes me so hard for the slightest mistake? Maybe if they had a better system, like respawns and a different weapon shop system, it would be fun. But no, it has to be the most infuriating pile of crap that I can't believe I wasted 3 bucks on. At least the bundle came with Day of Defeat, which is slightly better, so my money isn't totally wasted.

Dark Souls is overrated. Same with anything /v/ pimps for months at a time.

WiiU+PC is the true master race of this generation so far.

If there wasn't so many fucking FMV games for it, the Sega CD would've been truly awesome.

Sonic 3&K > Sonic 3 > Sonic 1 > S3DB >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sonic 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sonic 06 >

Penny Arcade has become a bent-over puppet for the industry.

I prefer Street Fighter II on the PC Engine over Mega Drive or SNES.

The Nintendo 64 was better overall than the PSX in everything but games.

I really don't get why people like games like LoL and DOTA 2. Whoopdie doo, follow a very rigid order system and win over and over without any room for creativity, soooo much fun.

I never even bought the first Half-Life - I just pirated the 1.1.1.0 version off of Rapidshare.

The Wii is one of the greatest systems ever made and it's library blows the PS3 and 360s libraries out of the water.

Well, I think the Wii has a lot of potential... And then had it all wasted on crap shovelware.

Really, of all the three, the Wii has the most shovelware of any of them. Most games that aren't shovelware barely take advantage of what one can do with the system, which just goes to show that the Wii just wasn't ready for this day and age.

One Wii game I love is Battalion Wars 2 for the Wii, which really does take advantage of the system and allows you to control it the way it should be, with a mouse-like cursor, and not a shitty stick.

I loved me some battalion wars, yet when playing it I did miss the gamecubes control rather then the very inprecise pointer.

All that shovelware though....

The most popular system always has the most shovelware. Hell, shovelware is what caused the 82 game crash.

Yes, but with few exeptions, Most of the Wiis library is Minigame Compilation #542, as opposed to crappy movie licensed game #984. Also, they didnt have reviews back in 82. And I am not counting first party games by nintendo. Thoose ARE good.

Also in 1982 they had like a billion different consoles and now we have the three big boys and the PC

The new SimCity is a piece of shit- oh wait, that's actually a POPULAR opinion, ah well.

Then, I don't think Linux is a good platform for video games.

[*] Borderlands/2 tries too hard to be funny and "stylish", if that makes sense.
[*] A majority of turn-based JRPGs are awful. Final Fantasy is boring.
[*] The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask was garbage.
[*] The Dreamcast was a pretty bad console, and if games weren't so easily copyable, it wouldn't have such a cult following.
[*] Sonic Adventures/2 were way ahead of their time in terms of music.
[*] TES V: Skyrim is the worst in the series.
[*] Pokemon games started to go downhill after Gold/Silver/Crystal.
[*] Team Fortress 2 is garbage that panders to neckbeards.
[*] Spore was a pretty good game.
[*] The Sega Saturn was a fantastic console.
[*] Most RTS games are boring as shit.
[*] The PSP was better than the DS.
[*] iOS/Android games are fun, and in many ways, the spiritual successor to Atari 2600/Arcade games.
