Paranoid, the Day Tripper Medley to close out World Coming Down. They also did the original intro music for Kane, but WWF decided to mimic it in house once it was made. Prime example of don't trust Vince McMahon.

Snoop Dogg covered Red Right Hand.
There's a Christmas album where Christian metal bands cover classics like Mary Did You Know. That's the least odd one since it's just standard goth metal. Here's Kekel's cover of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. Ever wanted a song about comfort and joy with shrieking?
Here's a death metal cover of Little Drummer Boy.
Akira Yamaoka covered Time to Make History.
Some Japanese punk band covered the tumbling down song.
There's two awful punk covers of Awesome God. The Christian punk and metal scenes of the 90's and 2000's were full of these illfitting covers of songs the members heard in church.

I always thought this cover of the Zeppelin song was really interesting. Hootie and them adding a country 'twang' to it, to me, was creative.

Beatles's "Across the Universe" with Celtic harp and string orchestra . I've long frustrated by the unavailability of this on Youtube, because I think it is far more evocative than the original and I long to show it to people.

The entire soundtrack of "Conan the Barbarian" transcribed for organ:

Holst's Planet Suite transcribed for organ:

Hansjörg Albrecht transcribed lots of famous classical pieces for organ, including Mussorgsky's Pictures from an Exhibition and excerpts from Wagner's Ring.
