US Army Battalion Commander picks fight with YouTuber. -

Below is a video from a YouTuber called Angry Cops, detailing a real life disagreement he's having with the commander of the 2nd Battalion 30th Infantry regiment. At the begining he suggests watching the previous video, I wouldn't bother this is the really interesting one.

Essentially what happened is the Battalion deployed on exercise during shit weather, then proceeded to take disciplinary action against any soldier that got Hypothermia or Trench foot. That's pretty shitty behaviour but it's not unheard of.

Where it got interesting is that Angry Cops who is very well connected, decided to make a video on it. With very detailed information on what had happened.

He then gets two phone calls, one from the Commanding officer, who proceeds to tell a series of obvious lies. Then in a way that will only be understood by someone that's served in a western military, he got a phone call from the CO's fucking wife. Who had apparently gotten his phone number from a friend of hers at brigade.

People might say so what, and condemn the post to spergatory. However this is just fucking hillarious. The commanding officer of a prestigious Infantry Battallion, has picked a fight with someone on social media and just set his life on fire. Also like a good YouTuber Angry cops seems intent on going back to well for additional content.

I think at some point a year or so ago our pals over in China learned that the more the reacted to the Winne the Pooh jokes the more push there would be and then people start noticing the concentration camps. That's why we don't hear as much Chinese sperging anymore. They probably don't like but it's better to ignore it and not bring attention to yourself. I guess what I'm saying is that it's weird for organizations and supposedly trained & disaplined people to not just shrug something off, sometimes it is just better not to respond.

I'm not quite sure about the actions of pussification. The CO had his Bn deploy on an infantry skills exercise in terrible weather, and the Sergeant Major wouldn't let them wear their cold or wet weather kid. One platoon commander got relieved after he moved his troops out of what was essentially a marsh where they'd gone prone.

Several of them got cold weather injuries which in case anyone doesn't know, often if you get one, it makes your body more vulnerable to further injuries for the rest of your life. They also got trench foot, which isn't as serious but means that they were wet for extended periods of time.

Anyone that got injured then had disciplinary action taken against them, and a Medic that intervened had his ranger tab ripped off him by the Sergeant Major.

There weren't any pussies involved, just a few assholes.

If trench foot goes untreated for a prolonged time it can become a serious issue even up to losing your foot or toes. During the Korean War trench foot was a serious problem for the US Army / Marines specially during the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir.
Trench Foot during WW1 also was the reason that every platoon commander/squad leader has had the duty to inspect his soldiers feet in the Imperial Army and the Wehrmacht when fighting in severe weather condition/trenches for a longer period of time.

TL;DR: Trench foot is a serious issue don't take it lightly.

I don't know what the US army is like but up untill a few years ago, some British Army units had a habit of fucking people around when they were trying to go sick on Exercise.

They don't do it anymore for various reasons, but it is enraging to deploy on a 2 week fuck around exercise in Otterburn in the middle of winter, only to watch guys go down on their first night, just because they can't look after themselves. They wear all their warm kit while they're in their sleeping bag, they don't change their socks, they don't wear their goretex correctly etc.

There is an element of truth to the idea, that if you get a cold injury then it's largely the individual soldiers fault. The exception would be something like doing a river crossing, where things can go fucking wrong very quickly unless the unit manages it correctly.

Don't get me wrong the BSM sounds like a complete prick, and ripping a qualification badge of a junior soldier (i imagine it was velcroed on) should be the end of his career.

What I found really fascinating though was how the Bn Commander decided to try and sort it all out with Angry Cops, and just told a pack of lies. Then he obviously got his wife to try the same which is just bizarre.

It's a bad look on the surface to say any of you get injuries from the environment I'm gonna punish you but really there are always idiots who don't do what they're supposed to and hurt themselves and holding the threat of punishment over their heads is the only way to get them to not fuck up. That's what NCOs are there for, to be assholes about shit that you think well damn why is this worth being an asshole about, but if no one's an asshole about it problems tend to arise pretty fucking quick. Back in the day they'd land on you like a ton of bricks for not keeping your mess tin clean because if you don't you eventually get sick and you're out of the fight so wash it out after you're done eating every time dumbasses or you're gonna get fucked. Maybe they still do, dunno in today's Pozzed Forces.

The battalion CO on the other hand sounds like a product of Obama's purge and reshaping of the military into those Pozzed Forces.

A land war with the United states requires them to have the capibilities to be suited for Urban, Rural, mountains, desert, forests, and marshes all at once. the US has large enough areas where any single one of these could be a major staging area. We have large facilities already made around these environments that would be suitable cover and choke points.
