ISIS came in when the US decided to withdraw, now people wanted the US back in. If the US leaves it will lead to a resurgence in terrorist groups. Its damn if you do, damned if you don't.
Heres a cool idea.
How about we stop fucking with conflicts we don't understand and that we have no business being in?
And as the world and our "allies"...
Who cares about them?
Europe leaches off of us, letting us protect them while spend their money on welfare and refugees. If they're so much better than us they can make their own way in the world.
And as for the Kurds...
Again what is your plan?
Sit in Rojava in limbo for all time because muh commitments?
Intervening in Libya and Iraq literally created the refugee crisis.
Redrawing the lines of the Middle East for the sake of the Kurds would the latest in a long sad line of utterly terrible ideas.
Twenty fucking years on and we're still uselessly sitting in the Mideast because Sunk Cost Fallacy is a fucking meme according to our government.
Like fuck do you think the Roman's sat around debating that they couldn't pull out of Numantia because "what will the Parthian's think!"?
Life isn't a story and there are no good guys or bad guys.
Just let the WW2/Cold Order die already so humanity can move on and America can start taking care of itself again.

The world doesn't need a policeman or babysitter.
it does, it's just that everybody wants said policeman to enforce different laws, and only when it benefits them. and regardless of which side you pick, a bunch of others are gonna bitch and moan because you didn't pick theirs instead.

We promised our allies in the region that we would support them
adhering to promises like that indefinitely would have had american troops sitting in south vietnam until at least the mid 90s, possibly even until today

it's a pretty simple analysis:
what benefit does america gain from propping up the kurdish separatists in northern syria? nothing really, except annoying assad (and thus, by proxy, iran and russia)
what cost does america incur from doing it? well it costs money, it puts the lives of american soldiers at risk, and it pisses off a major NATO ally because turks hate kurish separatism

to sum it up, staying with the kurds means paying lots of money and risking american lives for the sole purpose of annoying iran, russia, the syrian government, and the turks. sounds like a pretty shitty deal tbh

I would at least like to keep trade lanes on the ocean open so I can consume product and continue to get excited for next product, unironically. There's a middle ground between indefinite stays in the near east for no clear goal and total withdrawal from being world police.

And if we drop Turkey from Nato the greeks will go to war later that same day
Are you trying to talk me out of it, or talk me into it?

You accidentally put pissing of the Turks in the cost category and not the gain category but otherwise I agree.

We need to go back to the old 80's method of dealing with this shit.

Get with Russia, draw random lots for who we're supporting.

Sell all sides weapons. The more the better. Get rid of all the old trash by selling it to yowling Bronze Age sand-niggers so they can blow each other the fuck up.
Hike the rates on the shit so they need to sell more oil quickly to get the money to buy more SandNig-Killer 9000 cannons.
Let faggoty leftists cry over the dead
Repeat

Only this time when it calms down, instead of trying to keep it calm or invading ourselves, we just nuke the fucking place into glass.

I apology if someone already mentionned it in another thread but timcast vlog about AOC who did a big flip-flop and support the war in Syria because Trump pull out troops out of Syria.

Some comments gived me some good chuckles and they're right on target.

The Left: "Trump is bad because he will lead us to war."
The Left: "Trump is bad because he does not lead us to war." Make up your minds.
