However, there is one school of philosophy that can, if adopted, actually have real, positive impact in the world. That's utilitarianism.
It is the seemingly obvious idea that philosophy should actually be useful and that ideas are good, in a somewhat, ironically Platonic sense, if they would actually have positive results, would actually improve humanity, if adopted.
The hero of utilitarianism, if there is one, would be the philosopher Jeremy Bentham. He's an awesome fucking dude, and just to piss people off, he had his preserved corpse put on permanent display at UC London.
