Vegetarian vs vegan -

I can see myself being a vegetarian, and just replacing meat with dairy (e.x. cheese) if I had a fat craving, but being a vegan would be pretty tough. (There were times in the past where most of my diet was vegan - usually beans, rice, and olive oil, and the craving for meat fat or dairy fat was the hardest part for me; olive oil or fish oil didn't have the same satisfying taste).

I've bit the bullet and bought vegan food such as impossible burgers, Cookout Classic burgers, and vegan sausage. Despite Muslims crying about how wrong it feels to eat something they imagine must be like pork, the vegan food tastes noticeably different. Though be prepared for a fight (verbal or physical) if you tell a sample vendor in BJ's that vegan burgers taste different from beef burgers, even if you aren't saying vegan taste bad.

On one hand I dislike industrial farming and see organic farming as a nice alternative, but I'm too nihilistic to go vegetarian let alone vegan. The aggressive vegans on YouTube of course aren't helping their cause.

Having a vegetarian diet is leagues easier than vegan.

Being a vegetarian isn't just strictly eating vegetables, you can have fish and milk in your diet as well.

Vegans don't eat anything from an animal.

I've always been vegetarian and for me it's not hard, I don't really have meat replacements or tofu though. Depends a lot on your cultural cuisine too. If there's a lot of vegetable based/rice dishes it would probably be easier to become vegan or vegetarian.
I go without eggs mostly but don't think I could become a vegan especially long term. I've had milk replacements but cheese...

I am so goddamned sick of people saying "Oh, you'd never know!" Bullshit you wouldn't Maybe if you eat a burger with half the salad bar on it? Yeah, maybe under all that you can't tell, but even then I doubt it. But if you just want a cheeseburger? No, you bloody well can tell.

I've had every one I can get my hands on. Yes, they're better than they were. They're even "good", some of them. The Impossible are the best, and it goes down from there. But they are not in any way "indistinguishable".

I go pescatarian (vegetarian with fish) during Lent. Salmon is hands down the best fish for the diet when interspersed with cheaper whitefish like tilapia. It has a fattiness that helps with the craving for meat you get during those first two weeks.
Otherwise dishes that include beans and rice are good for maintaining complete proteins. Look to Indian food for inspiration with vegetarian dishes. Hindus and Buddhists have been vegetarian for thousands of years, guarantee they have some good recipes figured out.

Vegetarians are cool and living without meat (and fish) is something I'd seriously consider if my circumstances were different.

Meanwhile, vegans are insufferable faggots. I'm guessing there's something in products such as eggs and dairy that stop people from turning into fucktards. Or maybe it's something in soy that turn vegans into shitheads.
