So out of morbid curiosity, I decided to try reading a sample of her latest book. Why? I'm not sure. Maybe I thought her prior writing attempts were bad, but this one would be better...y'know, how writers (usually) tend to improve over time.
To borrow a line from the film 'The Rocketeer': Boy oh boy, is she a block of wood.
I've only read the first several pages of the first chapter, and I'm sitting here wondering why I should care about any portion of this book. The main character exudes a smarmy smugness that makes her extremely off-putting, and the scenes are written like a very poor Blade Runner ripoff fic. Her character building is on a very detached, superficial level; it reads like she's just running down a checklist of characterization tropes and checking off boxes.
...In other words, I suppose it's a perfect embodiment of BS herself, isn't it?

It's bound to be. Given her history of outrageous rape and death threats, she's a soulless sociopath with zero empathy, and doesn't understand how people work. She can rebrand herself as many times as she likes, she'll never be a decent writer. She probably has the money to hire a ghost writer and should try that option.

From what we've seen of the YA community, as emphasised by their thread, the only thing that matters to them is that a woman with an asian name is writing about an asian woman. Quality of writing is waaaay down the list of importance, behind everything woke.

Also, as can be currently seen by Basic Becky Gerber's thread, there's still the dregs of the SJWs who likely wouldn't care that this bitch has murdered people because she's still a poor oppressed gay PoC in their minds, no matter how wrong that is. Versus someone like Ray Bradbury, who was both immensely talented and didn't cause any deaths, but he was a straight white man so none of that matters.

There's "ophidian" in the first sentence, a word a boomer editor might cut out of primary schooler fiction, not being aware kids these days know it from vidya... then nothing. It's like she looked up one word, then realized there was no way she'd meet her nanowrimo goal if she kept it up, and proceeded to pour raw soylent down the page.
