Regarding Venus, I think there is no denying that her mom is crazy and she has been exploited and put in inappropriate situations since childhood. It's understandable why she is the way she is. However, I also think she gets an insane amount of flak. Her behavior IS manipulative. She repeatedly sent her goons after Manaki, a person who probably wasn't prince charming but went through a lot of shit to help her. Suicide baiting is fucked up and is not okay. I'm not saying that because reeee, young impressionable fans, but because it messes up the people she knows IRL. I don't think she did/does any of that out of malice but it's still hurtful and manipulative. She screwed over the manager who was supposed to be running her channel when she rebranded as Malice Jabberwocky and later admitted she really only did it to learn how to start her own business. She lied and claimed her manager's business as her own. She messed up plenty of times when collaborating with others, like when she was supposed to host that event at the izakaya and ended up getting drunk and making everyone else uncomfortable. She posted a random photo of a child and claimed he was sexually assaulted, which is messed up even if true. She's encouraging others to get into soft porn, which I don't think I have to explain is a very bad idea unless you have no other option to support yourself. None of those things make her worse than Hitler, but all of those are worthy of criticism. Plenty of lolcows likely had equally or similarly shitty backgrounds, childhoods and mental illnesses, but they do not get a shred of sympathy. Amberlynn Reid or Julie Terriberry come to mind. I don't know why one person is supposed to be exempt of criticism while all others aren't.

Kissing Venus's butt for the rest of her life because her childhood was crap is not going to help anybody. People on the internet are sympathetic and understanding because they have seen all the proof of her abuse, but people outside her little bubble are not going to care. If you go to an event and make an ass of yourself because you're having a bad day, people are going to get upset and avoid you. If you fuck up at work because you can't cope with the stress, your boss won't care that your mom yelled at you. Honestly, the only advantage she'd have if she left Japan would be better mental healthcare. You need to be willing to get help though, and unless she is committed to stop using mental illness and childhood trauma as a shield, I doubt she ever will. If she moved back to Europe she'd be just as friendless and alone, just as mentally ill, feel just as out of place (moving back to a place you left at age 11-ish and haven't seen in 12-ish years can hardly be called "going back home" and good luck ever getting a decent job after a lifetime of doing nothing.

The vast majority of lolcow’s users are ex-/cgl/ posters who are known for being deranged fat weeaboos and perpetually hangry anorexics. It’s a shame that they derail threads so much because they’re useful for image updates on cows but 99% of text-only posts are just autistic diatribes ripping female e-celebs apart for their nasolabial folds.

It’s not that hard to figure out what makes lolcow tick, it’s a gossip forum with chan roots so of course there’s going to be catty bitching to extremely deranged levels over another young woman. I think the difference is that Venus's abusive childhood/teenhood is available online for all to see. We can watch the horrible interviews she did with Margo, the Living Doll episode of My Strange Addiction, the various screenshots of Margo having her narc breakdowns, et cetera. People watched in "real" time as she lived through narcmom hell.

We can literally watch her go through all that shit, whereas with Julie and Amberlynn we just have to take their words for it. Obviously Julie went through some shit to be as fucked up as she was, but we didn't actually get to see it. I'm less familiar with Amberlynn. If we had some kind of digital record of the abuse they went through, maybe we would be more sympathetic towards them.
If Jani and Bodhi Schofield turn out to be cows in a few years or so, I feel like people will be extremely lenient towards them because again we have full documentation of the sick shit their "parents" forced upon them.

Yes this is old, but it forms part of my thoughts about Venus right now.

I have a lot of sympathy for many of our beloved cows, because I'm not a heartless monster. That said from my experience with women who have been in the same, if not worse, position as Venus right now I do find myself increasingly depressed with this thread.

There are success stories of those who at 23 were in similar situations to Venus, only to turn their life around and now have normal lives (which is the ideal) or capitalise on successfully dragging themselves out of the hole. There are more no longer young women who couldn't get out, who repeatedly make the same choices over and over again, or worse still make increasingly poor choices even as others try to desperately pull them out.

She's following the well written story of many women before her, and it's the path that makes you feel like you're repeatedly being getting them to take a single step forward only for them to run 20 back. A lot of the 35 year olds people think should have their shit together were the 23 year olds who everyone felt sorry for, then slowly but surely the empathy tanks dried up. Unless something drastically changes she's just going to tumble further down the hole.

From the videos it appears the individual who is "managing" Venus must now have realised she's not the most reliable vulnerable gaijin to pimp out online, yes vulnerable young women from abusive background and shit poor mental health make great targets for street pimps and low budget porn but not the sort they're trying to do with Venus even at their low effort tier.

I am not sure if her complexion just looks worse because of her monochromatic clothes and her dark hair.. But Venus skin actually looks grey? Like she has a deficiency or anemia. It could also be a side effect of her lifestyle and diet, we have seen glimpses of that over the last few months - specifically the excessive alcohol. The weight loss surgery is probably not making things any easier on her body.

I've been following all of this on-and off on lc from right before she ran away from margo (at least before she publicly announced it) and I remember anons being very sympathetic and supportive of Venus, and most of them probably still are, but the Venus-threads seem like just a few unhinged anons with an irrational hate-boner to the point where I've seen them defend margo several times and claiming that "poor marge was right about her the whole time".

i hope this actually means she’s getting away from her pimp manager. A stay in a mental hospital might be the best way to lose the scumbag.
