They are presumably "Love hotels". In Japan love hotels are places where you can rent by the hour, or up to several hours, for sexy times. While love hotels are sometimes used for seedy purposes, an overwhelming majority of its use are young couple who still live at home just looking for privacy.

Land in Japan is at a premium, especially in cities. Very often people are living on top of each other in their own homes and as mentioned before- with very thin walls.

I'd also hazard a guess that casual hook ups between fully consenting adults often use love hotels as well.

The situation Venus is in is sketchy as fuck and possibly very dangerous but the existence and use of love hotels aren't what's making it sketchy. Her weird behavior about this situation and the shoots themselves are what makes it sketchy.

If there is a trafficking thing going on and she's living with her manager he may not want some internet detective getting the doxx on him.Or if it's done at a place venus is staying at, he may not want anyone to be able to figure out where she is. There is nothing sketchy at all about providing a safe clean space where two consenting adults can copulate. Unless you were born with a golden spoon up your ass, there will probably be a time in your life where you do not have the funds to get your own place just yet, and either have roommates or live with your parents. Which makes wanting to fuck an absolute nightmare, unless you don't care about being discreet. It's embarrassing for you, and it's embarrassing and annoying for everybody else.

Don't know how you know that much about Venus' current living situation. She absolutely did shoot her content in her own home at first (see the Easter bunny photoshoot), but it looked crappy and cheap having shelves crammed with her personal belongings in every shot. Alright, pay by the hour rooms for sex are a celebrated part of esteemed Japanese culture, wholesome, clean and wonderful.

I’m sure they range greatly in quality. I figure the Venus video we saw with mildew all around was on the lower end of the scale. Others just look like typical generic hotel rooms.

Very similar places existed in mid-century USA referred to as “No Tell Motels.” It wasn’t just hookers/johns but young couples and people having affairs, same customers as Love Hotels. (Up until the 1970’s most hotels would not rent rooms to unmarried couples.) No Tell Motels filled the niche of providing a place you could just rent for a quickie or an entire night. These places even had cheesy theme rooms with hot tubs, just like Love Hotels.

Personally I think renting room that thousands of random strangers specifically rent to have sex in every month will always be kind of sketchy and gross, but to each his own. It certainly fits well with the whole OF thing since that’s all about selling sex.

I think people are mostly worried about where Venus is actually living, not so much about the places she’s renting to take kinky photos.
