VeChain is a Proof of Authority token built on the Thor blockchain that aims to have a high transaction per second rate. Blocks are formed by a "committee" of nodes that are randomly selected by the network to insure accuracy. A Block will then be periodically reviewed by other randomly selected nodes before being approved as "safe". The Ve Foundation maintains the odds of a Block reversion, while not impossible, are infinitesimally small (0.0000001%).

The purpose of VeChain is to provide validation and permanent decentralized records for Information Technology transactions. An example that has already been deployed in the economy is the use of barcode tracking of various shipments in the global supply chain, as well as proof of ownership for luxury goods shipped globally. The blockchain supports the production of dAPPS, and its scalability means that anyone can use it for their shipping processes and tracking in the same way Amazon tracks its packages right now. This can be applied to industries that right now have huge inefficiencies in their global shipping, such as food supplies. A shipment of Mexican Avocado's for example, could travel through any number of middlemen before reaching your plate, and their provenance cannot always be guaranteed. VeChain however can track each box of Avacado's from Farm to Table no matter whose hands they are passed too.

VeChain is already attracting interest in companies who need more efficiency in their shipping ability, especially companies in direct competition with Amazon. Wal Mart has already begun testing the use of VeChain in their business with China.

I'm really excited about this one. Its going for pennies on the dollar right now.

It's on Voyager, as are most worthwhile coins.

Coinbase is a shit normie app. Voyager updates their tables and graphs in real time and you can trade twice as many coins.

Was always interested in getting behind this one. The Binance only issue really makes it a pain in the ass though (I've already got 3 exchange accounts, don't need another one).

I'm in ADA and SOL pretty heavy though.

I get mine from Binance.us. I got into VET because I like the tech. I believe that once the world's supply chain slowly starts going back to normal, VET will start killing it. I also appreciate the free VTHO tokens.

Another supply chain coin? can you actually run dapps or it ends up costing more than regular servers like it happens with eth dapps?

Is this the new chainlink? what are the odds?

It has it's own blockchain and can host it's own dapps. It also isn't bogged down by Eth fees and transfers are about 400% faster. Holding Vechain generates their chain's token, Vthor. They also have some significant international corporate adoption along with the US Department of Health.

Idk if having your own blockchain is actually an advantage over running on an already established one, but then again I thought chainlink was a joke and look at it.

Got more on the corporate adoption? also the dept of health? seriously?

Edit: like, chainlink runs on eth's blockchain and also can run on btc's blockchain and hyperledger the latter which is backed by the likes of intel, ibm, samsung, amex and jp morgan, who's backing vechain?

Yea, I guess so, but as established as Ethereum is, it isn't perfect. Transfer fees and speeds are a problem until the Eth2.0 updates hit. There's 2-3 competitors that are giving them a run for their money in function and usability, obviously not coin/token value.

I mispoke about the Dept of Health. It was health departments for us firms lol. Seems like the pharmaceutical companies are thinking about using it to crack down on counterfeit drugs. It's all QR code based so I guess you could probably mark each pill with one. Not sure how it would implement.

There's more but these are the ones on their front page.

Any links to those companies saying they are using it? startups been placing logos on their sites to fake relevance since before crypto was a thing

As for chainlink, yea the eth blockchain isnt efficient but it seems that whatever a coin actually works as such matters little regarding valuation, just look at monero

The crypto market is 80% hype and 20% function anyways. Picking the most functional and technologically advanced blockchain will rarely make you as rich as the next meme coin.

When you see things like, "Vechain is working with Amazon's biggest competitors," they're talking about China's WalMart.
