  • Intermittent Denial of Service attack is causing downtime. Looks like a kiddie 5 min rental. Waiting on a response from upstream.

So Paramount's recombined parent company is back in talks to buy a stake in Miramax Films, which was Harvey Weinstein's studio.

This may interest you for several reasons.
  • Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction (the crown jewel of their library) would be under one roof.
  • Saving Private Ryan, which Paramount made with Steven Spielberg, lost Best Picture to Miramax's Shakespeare in Love.
  • Miramax was owned by Disney from 1993 to 2010.
  • Paramount wouldn't entirely own the studio, but would instead probably own much of the Miramax's library of films made before and during the Disney era.
If you're asking why Disney sold off Miramax in 2010 and not in 2005 when Weinstein left, it was when Bob Iger wanted the company to concentrate on brands instead and had no place for Miramax.
