Should I post in Games or Music if I wanted music specifically from games? And the music in question being hype music, i.e., Strange Sunset (Guile's Theme).

Zero is a fine entrypoint. It does have some references of past games from release order (mainly in the form of "guest characters" in substories) but nothing of importance if they go over your head anyway.I’ve been thinking of getting into the yakuza games recently, I’ve seen them promoted on PlayStation throughout the years and heard very good things since the release of Yakuza 0 back in 2017 that really brought the series into the western limelight. Yakuza: like a dragon also looks hella fun too. For a newcomer what would be the best starting point? Do I have needed to play all the previous ones on Ps2 and 3 for it to make sense? Or can I drop in at Zero and still have fun? What would you recommend.
It's a prequel story so the main point is to see how the main characters were acting in their youth (Kiryu is 20 and Majima is 24 iirc) during the last years of the japanese economy bubble, and interacting with a self-contained cast of characters. I really did like Sagawa and Kuze personally.I played 1 and 2 on PS2, then Kiwami 1 and 2. I got the Remastered collection for Xmas and am making my way through Y3 now. I honestly don't know if I can be assed playing 0 because I already know the basic story.
haven't played it yet, but doesn't it have much connection to the other games besides some guest appearances and nostalgia?Like a Dragon is actually the 7th mainline game but the western branches of Sega decided to treat like a spinoff for whatever reason.
More likely missing out some bit of world-building context (the situation of the Tojo clan in particular) and the guest characters who take a significant role at a certain point in the main story, but I'm not against the idea of newcomers using Like a Dragon/RGG7 has an entrypoint either.haven't played it yet, but doesn't it have much connection to the other games besides some guest appearances and nostalgia?
the main problem with sequels is that it's great for fans to get a new game, but anyone else can feel left out and/or is hesitant to buy it because there's an assumption that you need to know the other games first to understand it better and get more out of it (else no point making it a sequel). that gets worse the higher the number gets, and all the remasters/remakes/"which order to play" questions don't make it easier. makes sense to market the new game as it's own thing, still with the popular IP but not a numbered entry (fans will buy it anyway, less intimidating for new people).
Didn't think that could be real, but I checked Xbox's FB profile, and at least the post is. Of course particular comments in a FB comment thread are impossible to find, so those might still be fake… I don't know, they seem a little too perfect. But about half of the comments that Facebook graciously allowed me to see are calling them out for the pandering.
I'd highly recommend starting with the first game on PS2. Avoid the Kiwami games if you can help it.I’ve been thinking of getting into the yakuza games recently, I’ve seen them promoted on PlayStation throughout the years and heard very good things since the release of Yakuza 0 back in 2017 that really brought the series into the western limelight. A lot of people start with 0 and seem to really like it. It goes on sale for $5 on every platform, too.I’ve been thinking of getting into the yakuza games recently, I’ve seen them promoted on PlayStation throughout the years and heard very good things since the release of Yakuza 0 back in 2017 that really brought the series into the western limelight. Ha, I used to play FTL so much that my wife at the time started complaining about it. It's definitely on the harder side of the scale of modern roguelikes - no matter how much skill and experience you build up with the mechanics, it still basically comes down to the RNG to decide if you're going to get (or be able to buy) the weapons and shields you'll need to survive. I think I've only beat it twice in all the years I played it.I am so fucking bad at FTL(Faster Than Light), I'll feel like I'm doing good and get halfway thru a game and then some NIGGER PIRATES board me and fuck up my ship, or some random ship battle will utterly trash all systems on board and it's just suddenly over AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH FUCK
