Are there any video game programming engine that I can work on to make my own RPG? I don't want to use RPG Maker because it's mundane and it's crappy. Please help me about this.

RPG Maker is about the only good one out there, I have VX Ace and its quite nice. Outside of that, there is Unity, but its not so easy to use.

Use LÖVE 2D, it's based on Lua, which is an excellent programming language that I use a lot for my Garry's Mod gamemodes and independent games.
