There's a surprising amount of game studios from South Africa. At least one person working there is probably black. A lot of these games aren't obvious about their origins. Broforce, for example.

Tactics Elemental, an anime porn game / tactical RPG made by Fred Perry, famous for making Gold Digger and an animated video for the "You are a pirate" song back when that was viral. I've never played it, but just like Pondsmith, the guy is an inspiration and doesn't coast by on his skin colour.
It's kind of like female game devs vs women in gaming. The former make good stuff regardless of gender, and the latter are known only for their gender. Strange that.
