"If you're in your head, you will go insane, but if you're out of your mind you will be free, so be out of your mind"

Meet Vincent Anthony Parrelli, or “Jolly Cat”- a street performer hailing from Brooklyn with a remarkable talent and a very important message. I've been keeping an eye on him for years and I've finally decided to share his exploits with all of you.

This brief, yet grating video sums up Vinny pretty well.

Vinny’s shtick centers around an excruciating comedy routine as an original character called the Jolly Cat or 'The Hat in the Cat.' Performances generally start with Vinny yelling the same phrase over and over, often for several minutes, in a "silly" voice - and end with Vinny delivering a message to a bewildered audience about Jesus, Vinny breaking character and getting upset, or a combination of both. Vinny is entirely convinced that the Jolly Cat is not only funny, but groundbreaking. He'll get furious when someone tells him that it might not have the potential he sees in it.

Jolly Cat is a character Vinny created after having a traumatic family emergency, falling into a drug-fueled doom spiral where he dabbled in a life of crime, then converting to born-again christianity. Jolly Cat's stated message is to make adults feel god's love and to make them 'be more like children.' Though it sounds incredibly creepy, it's worth clarifying that Vinny is probably not a pedophile. Basically, repressed emotion, unmedicated bipolar disorder, and ten gallons of pure jesus have caused Vinny to have a Michael-Jackson-esque fixation on regaining his childhood.

Vinny has two youtube channels of his own: ‘The Jolly Cat’ and ‘Dizzyhappyland’ where he posts videos of his various performances.
He also posts and streams live video regularly to his facebook page.

He has been on America's Got Talent.

Vinny has three major obstacles in the way of his stardom. His temper, which can
emerge suddenly and violently, his overall lack of talent, and his friend Tony.
Tony, until recently, had a parasitic relationship with Vinny. He labeled himself Vinny’s ‘manager’ and began interacting with Vinny and showing up in streams. Tony would frequently find backhanded ways to insult Vinny, or would make deliberate efforts to rile him up in hopes of getting him to flip out on camera. A great example of Tony is this video, which I’ve ripped and timestamped.

Vinny is also on a sweetheart search, of sorts. He regularly drops hints at his desire to get a girlfriend by trying to pair up his stage persona, Jolly Cat, with a ‘Lollipop Girl,’ often referred to simply as ‘Lolly.’ He’s made some fairly uncomfortable media related to this: a song and music video, bizarre scripted skits, and a variety of other generally uncomfortable media both in and out of 'character.'
Unsurprisingly, he has some strange hang-ups around women and sex more generally. Besides a few comical 'christian' perspectives (anti-condoms, anti-female employment) he's also discussed having a 'vagina phobia' on stream, which he credits for still being a virgin.

Since Vinny has a history of deleting videos that don’t reflect well on him with great speed, his better videos are archived here. Do take a look.

Props to Normal Bob for documenting this guy well in advance of all this- Love you, Bob.

Since he has been at this for over a decade, others have inevitably noticed Vinny. He has built up a community around him (mostly NY locals) who comprise a sort of insincere fanbase. Tony fucks with him the most, but Vinny has alluded in various streams that Brooklynites mess with him frequently both on and offline, which his outdoor streams certainly confirm.

That's all I got for now. Here are some links to his various pages.

He's so cringy I can't watch any of his videos without turning the volume down.
Take this piece of work:
To save your time, it's three minutes of him ranting the same asinine sentence over and over again to the point of rivaling The Nutshack theme. "Lollipop Girl" from OP has about the same effect. I would ask why he puts so much time and effort into making this cringe, but honestly I'm not surprised anymore.
Is he on the tugboat? His Facebook says he earns pitybux from street donations from whatever lunatic act he's engaging in at the moment, but even epic lolcows like Chris barely get enough to buy extra legos or whatever. How is he holding it together?

He's said in some streams that his mother and aunt support his lifestyle. He probably does get some cash from his performances but I don't imagine it's much.
He occasionally gets booked at comedy clubs, so when that happens, he gets paid a flat rate even if he bombs

Why isn't he dressed like a duck in this duck-waddling video?

All of Vinny's costumes are hastily thrown together. They usually have nothing to do with his acts.

I saw this thread at work and couldn't watch the videos but the description tantalized me. I watched and did not feel let down in slightest. I rocketed past laughter and quickly felt intense world-pain as Ze Churmans say. Great find.

www.gofundme.com/2gefnv8s Here's his dismal Go Fund Me page in case it hasn't been linked. Not a single donation in two months and his goal is pitiful. I wish he would aim for the stars.

Since Vinny has a history of deleting videos that don’t reflect well on him with great speed, I took a few hours to archive and timestamp some of his more important videos. Timestamps are in the descriptions. These can be found here. Do take a look.

I'm not the first person to notice Vinny. He has built up a community around him (mostly NY locals) who comprise a sort of insincere fandom around him. They generally don't fuck with him too much (besides Tony) but Vinny has alluded in various streams that people pretending to be women have contacted him.
Just in case you're wondering, here's what happens when you
do pretend to be a woman and contact him.

Hold up. This guy thinks his stupid shtick is an ACT? And that it's funny? I think even the corniest of grandpas would think this shit is terrible.
He is incredibly confident in his acting abilities. Like, he genuinely thinks that when he does this, he's 'getting into character.' That screaming "I love bananas" in a crowded Papaya King for 45 straight minutes is like, honing his acting skills.

That makes for a nice segway into what Vinny's been up to lately. Late september, Vinny released a video saying that he was going to remain in character as the Jolly Cat, no matter what, for an entire month. As always, watch on youtube. Highlights timestamped in description.
He followed this up with a fucking wild video yesterday where he tried to pass off out-of-character complaining as a new character called the sad clown. He gets real pissed in the end.
It's one of his better videos and it's here.

I feel like we should check missing persons for the girls in his "audition" videos for Lolly. Those are seriously creepy.

It's been 5 years already, they're deader than disco.

This video from the first post is pretty revealing. Get him upset and he goes Full NY Goomba, Jesus Kitty be damned.

It's crazy to think that in 8 days this video was uploaded exactly 10 years ago. I wonder how long he has been this insane for?

He was a cute kid, what happened? Time is a cruel mistress.

"Vin Jolly was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Vin Started doing comedy in 2002 as "Vinny A O' which was a very "Brooklynese" Character and had some success in the comedy clubs. Tragedy struck in Vin's life, at the time ending his career. He was unable to perform because his mind became weak, and could barely put together a sentence due to the trauma he dealt with. A few years later God revealed his love and identity to Vin and became his best friend, thus showing him his own identity in Christ."

From his website. Any insights into the specifics or is dead dad the easy answer?

Aw shit, that actually makes this kind of sad.

Like, now I like to imagine he was pretty funny and likable at first but then this unknown tragedy just broke something inside of him. Like a Batman villain.

His dad's alive for sure. He mentions him occasionally in the present tense on stream.

Whatever happened to Vinny, it must've been serious to get him this into Jesus. There's a video that I recently found about his backstory (I'll get it ripped soon). He refuses to go into what exactly happened pre-Jolly Cat but he literally says 'my mind was mush.'
