Anyone invested enough to be an active member of a "community" who's only thing in common is finding the same dude on the internet funny is probably a little off by default. Most dedicated fanbases require too much energy for anyone with an actual life to participate in besides real hobbies.

Jermas seems fine honestly, me and a friend was talking about it the other day, and one of the differences between their communities is that jermas comes for Jerma, the game being filler mostly. While Vinny's comes for the game in a large part.

Fuck, I guess so. I've been there maybe a month (solely just to see when people watch stuff on Vineyard) but I picked out a specific point in a conversation and replied to that. No idea why but folks started getting agitated about that. Then one of them said something generalizing about Americans and intelligence (lol) so I replied back in an effort to prove 'em wrong. Then this person accused me of picking fights when I told them their statement needed reworking. Fuck dude, it's not my fault if you're gonna smear an entire group of people and then get mad when someone calls you out on it. Is everyone in the Discord just perpetually miserable?

Vinny being friends with Ross is such a blessing. When was the last time he was as energetic and full of life as he was in last night's Among Us VR stream? Granted he had some drinks in his system, but now it really felt like he had a genuinely good time with friends, a side we don't get to see too often. It's such a stark difference compared to the first time when he was with a bunch of strangers and just stuck to the sidelines.

Thanks to this group being people he knew and got along with, his jokes and outbursts landed much better this time. Plus, the one person he didn't know, Axman, turned out to be a member of his own chat which really caught him off guard. I'm also pleasantly surprised at how much he gets along with octolinghacker, who's since become a regular in Vinny's chat.

It really couldn't have come at a better time considering COVID has limited what he can do with friends IRL. It's been good for him and fun to watch. I'm glad Vinny is mostly a solo streamer, but I've really enjoyed the once a week streams with either the mods or Ross' crew. It's a nice change of pace.

I'd say discord in general is just a giant eternal high school that's mostly filled with the outcasts and misfits. There's nothing quite like putting your life into perspective when watching a 27 year old manchild argue in multiple long winded paragraphs about why the Last Jedi should have won an oscar while also in another channel at the exact same time ponder why he has gotten no where in life.
