Okay so this thread was inspired by one particular case.
Ever hear of Luka Magnotta? He's a batshit insane Canadian porn actor and male model who killed and ate a dude, filmed it, and put it on the internet so he could become famous.
But that's not all. He started out as a mostly harmless lolcow. He'd spam websites with creepy rants, pictures of himself, and rumors that he was dating Karla Homolka under hundreds and hundreds of sockpuppet accounts on a number of sites, as well as auditioning for several reality shows.
Then some time later, he snapped and starting killing kittens and filming the deaths and this got people looking for him.
He was so caught up in his self-image of a bad boy serial killer that he eventually got caught in Germany while googling his own name in a internet cafe.
It's really hard to overstate how fucking bizarre this case is.
So Magnotta got me thinking: how many people who are serial killers and other criminal types are lolcow-turned-horrorcows?
I think this is a worthwhile discussion because the popular image of violent criminals is pretty far from reality. People like David Berkowitz and Bundy aren't Hannibal Lecter-style criminal masterminds but are more typically violent, maladjusted dipshits who fly off the deep end and take a number of decent people with them.
