How so? These people mostly consume content, they don't create it, and even if they create content it's usually really bad. Meanwhile the core audience of both those fandoms is Japanese otaku who care very little for outsiders in their hobby. Even if people got into the fandom, their content would be competing with the talented autistic veterans of the sub-culture, and when it comes down to it, people won't be keeping up with shit content when there are better options.
