As much as the Chinese government attempt to convince people that they are all one big happy Han family, there are literally dozens of mutually unintelligible dialects of Chinese that, if the CCP was actually honest, would be considered completely different languages. It IS multiethnic and multicultural, but Beijing is doing its damnedest to forcibly assimilate everyone into "Han" Chinese culture.lol what the fuck are you even talking about
Okay which book have you read that will tell me about multicultural non-nationalist China?Read a book to find out.
Okay so you're doing that thing where you're gonna tell me Native Americans were super diverse cause they worshipped different sorts of birds and spoke extremely slightly different dialects. This is that gay shit you get from British people like da norf is a different fucking continent. As much as the Chinese government attempt to convince people that they are all one big happy Han family, there are literally dozens of mutually unintelligible dialects of Chinese that, if the CCP was actually honest, would be considered completely different languages. I love it when you gay nerds get backed into a corner and start pulling fake laughing meme stuff like this.
Read a book, retard
Your basic understanding of ethnolonguistics is so lacking I literally cannot help you.I love it when you gay nerds get backed into a corner and start pulling fake laughing meme stuff like this.
What's your favorite book on how multicultural, ethnically diverse, and non-nationalist China is?Your basic understanding of ethnolonguistics is so lacking I literally cannot help you.
Sorry you're mentally retarded.
I guess Russians and Italians are the exact same thing
See: the entire history of US-Russia relationsHow's that old proverb go?
Me against my brother.
Me and my brother against my cousin.
Us and my cousin against our neighbor.
My neighbors against the next town over...
I assume all meatbag divisions are based upon who you're teamed up with at the moment to fight who.
So you're the one saying I can't tell the difference between Italian and Russian (more like Northern and Southern Italian, and they insist it's a huge deal) but you're over here saying slightly different dialects with nearly exact syntax constitutes multicultural.I'm not the one who said they weren't nationalist. They absoutely are nationalist.
But here's a book about the many languages spoken in China:
https://www.amazon.com/Languages-China-S-Robert-Ramsey/dp/069101468X
They're not "slightly different dialects". They're in the same language family but are not mutually intelligible. By your standards, Russian and Italian are dialects of the same language. So you're the one saying I can't tell the difference between Italian and Russian (more like Northern and Southern Italian, and they insist it's a huge deal) but you're over here saying slightly different dialects with nearly exact syntax constitutes multicultural.
Canada has 2 official languages, 2 distinct founding nations, distinct laws, and distinct historical cultures, and yet there exists this thing called Canada as a nation and a people. You are weirdly setting the threshold for multiculturalism insanely low, just cause Saudis eat McDonalds and speak English doesn't mean they're multicultural dude.
I'll ask you again: what is your favorite book about how multicultural and diverse China is? You seem to like books.
I know they're not mutually intelligible, then they would be the same language. That's what makes them dialects. But there is a difference between Germanic and Slavic languages, and the Slavic languages have much more in common and even an English speaker can fake their way through German and French due to the syntax and shared history. You know nothing about languages. This is a discussion about China and the argument being made that they were multicultural and globalist as opposed to Japan. This is historically incorrect, but you're trying to take it in a new direction which makes even less sense. They're not "slightly different dialects". They're in the same language family but are not mutually intelligible. By your standards, Russian and Italian are dialects of the same language.
Again, your understanding of this is so limited it's beyond my ability to instruct you.
