I've requested a trial of DreamHost's VPS to see if that resolves the outages. I'm pretty sure someone on the shared host is running scripts that is breaking the server. If it does resolve the outages, I'll end up paying extra to maintain the quality of the forums. I'll let you know when we are on VPS.

The VPS appears to have stabilized the forum. It is running much more smoothly than before.

Our forum is popular enough to stress ( ) the shared host, but not really popular enough to need anything bad ass. Allotting the VPS 400mb memory will double the monthly cost of the forum from $9/m to $20/m, and it may need an increase in the future, but for now this will work.

I will not be accepting donations. I can handle the cost. If you wish to provide support to a website, send money to sonichu.com as that is more important.

Our VPS got spiked and drove my data usage way beyond what we could handle, which is why the server went down.
I've increased our memory usage to $25/500mb
