Also, some Antis posted DRL stuff on one of r/ShesNotRealBro; DRL takes it with a surprising amount of grace:

Honestly it's understandable why they do it. A fictional character can only say the positives about you and give you unconditional love and won't be able to leave you. But the downside is it's a big projection game and when the game is shut off or the waifu merch is taken away, they finally see how pathetic they are and have nothing because everyone else has left or hurt them.

That being said I do wish some of these people like DRL are getting the help they need and are trying to cope in different ways.

My favourite thing about this blog post is that she talks about her being afraid of having an inter-racial imaginary child (she's so fixated on this idea that she has to be a victim of racism that she had to make her OC non-human lmao) because she is worried about what the characters of a Fire Emblem game would think of her for it. Is she just worried that an NPC might say something rude to her? It's a given that the logic doesn't check out but her deep fear of upsetting the characters of a Fire Emblem game with her real life decisions is so funny to me.

That's actually something I've been wondering: how do these folks react if/when their waifus die? That's especially common for video game waifus, but I imagine a number of users have had their anime waifus bite it over the course of their canon run. Do waifuists just ignore the death, or...?
