Rahetalius got denied entry to the new partner program. I wonder if DE went to the trouble of making a new partner program solely to deny access to people they dont like.

The fleeting horror on her face and her scramble to hide it is something I can watch a hundred times and never get tired of.

I'm currently agonizing over whether there is any point in trying to extract some liquidity from my account. It's really of no use to me now. The damn thing is too valuable to just let rot, but every option I've looked at so far ended up seeming sketchy as fuck.

Heya, just wondering what the Warframe
situation is currently like?

Haven’t played the game for a while, but have been considering jumping back in recently. Is it still a SJW infested mod-cesspool or did things get better?

It's absolutely fucking hilarious to me that DE lessened the MR requirement for a "vet oriented" system, to the point where auto socketing ayatans is at a higher MR requirement. This update is going to shit and it hasn't even released.

What, no mention of them nerfing transferable abilities before the feature even released, due to forum/Youtube theorycrafting?

The community is really, really dumb.

I somehow missed this, but it is looking like DE is getting greedier:

They're putting more and more cosmetic stuff behind direct cash payment instead of their premium currency, and some in the community are not pleased when combined with my post above. I suspect they're starting to feel a cash crunch.

I mean, warframe is one of the few games in steam charts that consistently loses players even through the pandemic.

The only spike they had recently (150k online) was due to a day with a metric load of free shit being given, it was high enough of a spike to actually set the monthly average into the green.

Otherwise it's red red red red red.

It's hilarious because everywhere I go, all I hear is "they're totally not losing players though!"

They had a golden goose but like any greedy body, they demanded more and more from it only to tire it out. It doesn't help they treat the community like shit.

Their worst enemy is the content drought, everything else would be overlooked if there was shit to play, being that's not the case, people will latch onto everything else, that being drama.

That's their own fault though. They just had to latch onto big "open world" projects instead of dripfeeding content.

It definitely is, and I doubt those "big open world projects" take much work at all past the first, I fully believe the game has been on maintenance mode for the longest time and their dev cycle is purposedly slow since their whales will just keep spending.

They have coasted off of the goodwill of being one of those "indie sweethearts" for years now, they aren't about to change that, even if the goodwill is deteriorating.

That is not their worst enemy. Their worst enemy is an almost total lack of unifying vision.

They have a ton of ideas, but seem to have absolutely no idea how to unify those ideas into a cohesive whole. The obvious result is the content islands, but if you consider it further it is more insidious than that. The nerfs? A lack of unity in whether they want a highly tailored experience or a power fantasy. The absolute fuck pile that is/was their community creator projects? Total lack of unity on whether they should be hands on or hands off on it. The story being bug fuck fucking nuts with seemingly contradictory story elements? Oh boy yes.

Nothing is ever made with the whole in mind. Just "The next big thing". Hypothetically, this is DE Steve's entire reason for EXISTING on the project. Yet the man seems the most out of touch out of all of them, and rather obviously has no unified vision or vision past the next update.

This is one of the more frustrating things about the game, honestly. It's staggering just how hard they avoid cutting out shit that doesn't work or has aged past the point of relevance, in both gameplay mechanics and in over-arching lore. There's enough parts scattered around that a competent writing crew could get a good, coherent story cobbled together, but that would also require removing older things that don't fit said structure.
I'll admit, I still find the setting and concept interesting enough that I hope DE unfucks their product, but at this point it would require an out-and-out dictator to come in and lay down the law about what stays and what goes.

I'm probably stating the obvious with this, but just in case I'm not: I think it's important to remember that any financial success DE has achieved with Warframe was a historical anomaly for the company.

Their history of work output has been a series of support contracting (on games like UT2k3) and mediocre-to-bad games (The Darkness, Dark Sector, etc.). The support work and miscellaneous contracts are almost always done simply to get some bills paid and keep the lights on. Pretty much every time DE has ventured into creating their own games, the results have - at best - been very modest earners that are the business equivalent of treading water.

That's without even addressing the laughably bad Nu Trek movie tie-in game. One BirgirPall video is really all anyone needs to see of that thing.
More recently, there was that canceled "The Amazing Eternals" project that should probably never have gone beyond a design doc. It was already behind trend and a poor competitor in its target market. I'm really just belaboring the point that DE have never really had their shit together, and the company would have (by rights, should have) gone bust if not for the surprise eleventh-hour generosity of early Warframe backers. They got fucking lucky on the consumer dime, immediately got swole heads about it and have been insufferable autofellating shitasses ever since.

I think Warframe is a good game that should have ended a long time ago. The core concept was done years back and all they are doing no is attaching whatever ideas they can sort of fit in, in a hope it will continue to keep the game alive.

Case and point, look at all the aspects of the game that have been implemented but get little to no attention in the years following it.

PVP - Trends were for PVP MOBAs at the time, and so they stuffed in PVP. Its always been a shitfest that a handful of people played. Many people think its the least played part of the game, its just the least played part you can remember.
Lunaro - Remember that? most people forgot it or never even heard of it. It was an attempt at something and it failed to take off, because like PVP, it was halfbaked.
Archwing - DOA and after a few attempts to get it working, they sort of gave up and it sees a little play in ShiteJack as a transition method. It, again, was half baked and did not fit the engine, but it was never given a chance anyway.
Sharkwing - An attempt to fix some of the problems, and a justification for its existance. The Arch shit really did die, and it gets dragged out to remind people to actually level an Archwing from time to time.
RailJack - What a fucking abortion, one which is already floating into the ether as trying to build a space sim fighter inside an already buggy 3rd person looter was a retarded idea from the get go.
Kubrows - They never knew what to do with them. They thought "hey a buff machine" and rather than fix that, make Kavats. That failed, what about a fighter that can borrow abilities, Helminths. Never fix anything, just make new, and fuck that up.
FrameFighter - Another PVP attempt, another failure. No one plays this mode, it was a shit take on beatemups.

I could go into the piss poor weapon balance, the fact that melee has always been king, most new frames just being a combo of old frames, the Operator being forced to be used in Eidelon hunts as a new timegate life sink, but its all the same.

PoE was a mess, but they listened to us gamers guys! they fixed the balance of the grind. 4tuna was a mess, but they listened to us gamers guys! they fixed the balance (sort of) of the grind. That new openworld? Is it a hot mess of shit grind forcing players to do boring, halfbaked pokemon shit? of course it is, its wank and most people know it. Each update, more people leave, each update just pushes them further into the grave.

Part of the reason I stopped playing Warframe because of stuff like this. I'm not the type of player who uses slurs or is a meanie-pants to people, I'm there to play the game. But I do not want to exist under power-tripping SJWs who will arbitrarily ban people, where there is no ability to appeal because nepotism is the rule. I do not want to promote it, and I do not want to be invested into an environment like that.

I have hundreds of hours over the course of years in Warframe, with somewhere around 100 positive reviews on Warframe Market (trading is the true end-game). I'm done. The same could be said for Rainbow Six Siege.

The real question, is Quite Shallow/Quiet Shy trans?

Apologies for Necro'ing the thread, but DK Dinamantes (or w/e) said in a stream that Shy had a botched tonsilectomy, so take this with a grain of salt. (unfortunately didn't archive or remember the vod)
